My tag line is, “Capturing the Extraordinary in the Ordinary”. There’s something about an aged weathered faded painted sign on the side of a building that begs to be captured.
While selling at the Little Falls, MN arts and craft show I stayed at a friend’s house in a town if you blinked while driving through you’d miss it. Across the street from his house was this unpainted building with a barely readable sign on the side of it. As I left that morning to go to the show I noticed the morning dew in the sunrise on the building. I was running a bit behind but I knew if I didn’t stop I’d never see this moment again. I’m so glad I did!.

A couple of weeks ago I went to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to do a walk about, photographing whatever I thought was interesting. How fun to find art wherever I went.

God story!
I received an email yesterday that came as a complete surprise. A good one, but a complete surprise. It was a surprise because I completely forgot about entering the NE Minneapolis calender contest.
A friend told me about it over a beer and Tacos at Shaw’s Bar the night before the deadline. The next day I looked up the contest rules and decided to enter. It’s very difficult for me to enter my work. I over think it and then don’t enter. They were looking for any art that represented community, from any NE artist. NE Minneapolis is known for its artists community and the country’s largest art crawl, Art-A-Whirl.
I submitted 3 photos and went on with my life.
I’m overwhelmed right now typing this, with tears streaming down my face.
TWO of my photos were selected for this project!!!!
These are the photos.
“Groovin’ Indeed” will be May. It’s a photo I took during Art-A-Whirl 2021 at Indeed Brewery, which is held in May. The band was on a break. “Midnight Blue” will be December. It’s the Lowry Ave Bridge with the reflection of downtown Minneapolis in the background.
The calendars are free and you can pick them up at businesses throughout NE come December.
Oh and I’m getting a check!!!
God gives the gifts and talents, but it’s up to us to discover them, develop them, and use them.

This past weekend I had a great time selling my art in Little Falls, Minnesota at their annual Arts and Crafts show. It was the biggest show I have done so far. As always the Smiling Goat and the Duck Butt photos were a hit!
So many great moments, but one in particular hit it for me. It was very crowded and as a group of women walked by I saw one of them point at the Smiling Goat photo and say, “oh so and so has that photo!” It hit me in a way I never expected, because a year ago when I started selling my art I was worried no one would buy it. It will be a moment marked in time forever. A moment of accomplishment and humbleness, a moment of a beautiful gift. A moment that only can come from trusting and sacrificing so much. A moment I never knew would heal something I didn’t know I needed healing from, but as write this with tears of gratitude flowing, I can only say, “Thank you God” for everything!

Beautiful canvas for an art collector. This truck photo is so unique! I had made a canvas of this photo over 5 years ago when I first started. I re-edited. I loved it then but I love it so much more today. It’s exactly how I wanted it to look. I’ll hand signing this for him. I can’t wait until he see it.
I have always loved earth tones.
