I've had parents express wanting their children to take pictures but had concerns because of autism, intellectual disabilities, or other types of neurodivergence.
Please, do not fret or worry! We are 100% ND friendly over here! There are times where we've had to turn off lights, play soft music or speak in hushed tones. Sometimes we have to give multiple breaks and have a little play time in between shots. But with the help of parents, grandparents, godparents, and siblings, we ALWAYS get the shot!
When filling out your intake questionnaire, you are more than welcome to indicate if your child is neurodivergent or may possibly shows signs, this way I can make sure we have ample time to work with them. Prior to photography, I worked in the mental health field for 10+ years plus worked at a daycare. My degree is in psychology where I've taken multiple child development classes along with CEUs while working at the daycare. I'm not an expert BUT I do have an understanding about the stages children go through and can recognize certain signs and cues that the children may show.
I LOVE my babies in every way they come! Including my BIG TEENAGE BABIES! So parents, don't hesitate and don't worry! Everyone will be in good hands and will have great pictures!
