🐾🍻 TALL CITY TOP DOG 2026 WINNERS ANNOUNCED! 🍻🐾
On June 6, 2026, Midland Animal Shelter Adoptables (MASA), in partnership with Tall City Brewing Co., proudly announced the winners of the Tall City Top Dog Beer Label Contest!
A big tail-wagging congratulations to our winners:
🥇 1st Place – Judd
Described by his family as "a heart wrapped in fur," Judd is everything a Briard should be—sweet, faithful, goofy, and sometimes barely tolerable! His muzzle is always wet because he insists on sticking his entire face in the water bowl when he drinks. He loves spending time with his Golden Doodle brother and Yorkie little sister and has captured the hearts of voters across West Texas.
🥈 2nd Place – Winston
Meet Winston 👑🐾
Named after Winston Churchill, Winston lives life by a few famous quotes:
"Never, never, never give in"—especially when chasing a frisbee.
"I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat"—mostly after epic backyard play sessions.
And "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts"—which is why Winston always goes back for one more throw.
Whether he's playing fetch, going for walks, or charming everyone at the local plant store, Winston never meets a stranger and proudly embraces his title as the "bestest boy."
🥉 3rd Place – Blue
Blue's story began with a second chance. He and his siblings were destined for a shelter when MASA stepped in and changed their future. Originally fostered with the intention of finding him a home, Blue quickly made it clear he had already found one.
At 125 pounds, Blue is a gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws. He lives for frisbee, believes every day is a pool day, and has never met a person, dog, child, or animal he didn't love. His story is a powerful reminder that incredible dogs can be found in rescues and shelters every day—just waiting for someone to give them a chance.
When we launched this year's contest, we hoped people would participate. What we didn't expect was the overwhelming response we received. Apparently, West Texans really love three things: great beer, great dogs, and a little friendly competition!

A special congratulations to all 112 dogs who participated—whose enthusiasm, creativity, and competitive spirit helped make this year's contest PAWSOME!! Every dog was a winner in our eyes, and every entry helped support the animals in our community.
A heartfelt thank you to Tall City Brewing Company for partnering with MASA on this incredible fundraiser and for hosting a fantastic release party to celebrate the winners and the community that made this event such a success.
Thank you to Paisley Jane’s Treats for creating treats for an amazing dog charcuterie board that had tails wagging all afternoon, and to our friends at Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals and Midland Humane Coalition for joining in on the fun and helping make the event even more special.
Most importantly, thank you to every contestant, every voter, every sponsor, and every person who shared the contest with friends and family. Your support helps us continue making a difference for homeless pets in our community.
Keep an eye out for Tall City Top Dog 2027, launching in early April. We can't wait to see which local pups will compete for next year's coveted beer label!
