Beautiful 💕

What does it mean to center the family during birth? There are so many suggestions and words we could say. And yet, this picture illustrates so much, so simply. You can see the father's hands below: he was the first one to touch his son. His hands are still there, suspended in awe and deep admiration for his partner. And then the mother, the center of this story. Holding her baby so close that it seems as if there brief moment of separation (when he left her body) didn't even happen. They are together, untouched by extra hands, towels, or a cold stethoscope. This moment didn't last forever, but it was given the SPACE for it to happen. And moments like this (however brief) matter for all of their nervous systems, their bodies, their minds, and their souls.

A little peek to this little bub’s in home newborn session. Little bub came as a surprise to mom and dad. But I guess what they say is true, that children don’t come when you want them. They arrive when you need them. Can’t wait to show mom and dad this bub’s photos! 🥰❤️
