It had been a long time since we had a sunset like this!

We were at a party two years ago and I walked down to the lake to see if there was something worth catching. Not really at first, just a smudge of yellow in a slight break in the clouds. I waited a bit, then headed back to the party. So glad I turned back to look just a few minutes later.

Sunset pics are best enjoyed in a solo spotlight so here's my fave, but I did just share five others from that night. It kept getting more stunning as time went on, the pics really don't show the true beauty of it. At the end, there was a beautiful stretch of red that I couldn't truly capture with my camera.

Though I missed the Golden Hour nights for photographers, I made it to the sunflower field at Deep Roots Produce this past week and ended up having the field to myself!

It was breezy and clouds blocked the sun at times, but I got plenty of shots that I'm still going through. This will be one of my faves I'm sure.

A mama Mallard and her ducklings.

On one of the channels nearby, the owners have an old windsurfing board anchored by their seawall for ducks to take a rest on and turtles to soak up the sun. It is definitely well used.

It had been a while since we had a daily dose of hummingbirds two years ago.

I refreshed the feeder and that helped. We had at least three that stopped by throughout the day and one was such a tiny little guy. As I took one shot, I was pretty sure the hummingbird peed and sure enough when I checked the pics he did. 🤣
