2027 nature photography calendar

📸 𝐈 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩!

I'm starting to put together my 2027 calendar featuring some of my favorite images, and I'd love your input! Over the past few years, I've photographed landscapes and wildlife from several countries and continents. Now I'm trying to decide which direction to take with a calendar.

Which of these calendars would you be most interested in?
🏔️ 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟏: 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐬— Breathtaking mountains, waterfalls, desertscapes, swamps, and oceans from locations such as New Zealand, Iceland, and spectacular scenery here in the United States.
🦁 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐: 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 — Incredible encounters with wildlife, from African elephants, lions, and cheetahs to birds in Costa Rica and Florida, among other amazing animals.

I'll conclude our photographic journey through Iceland with perhaps the most iconic and famous location in the country - Kirkjufell mountain.

We arrived as the sun was setting and stayed until dark, which in Iceland during the summer months meant a few hours. Our patience paid off. As the evening progressed, the clouds took on a beautiful pink glow, creating the perfect ending to our time there.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these images. If you love nature and gorgeous landscapes, I highly recommend putting Iceland on your bucket list.

There are certainly more powerful waterfalls in Iceland. Higher waterfalls and mighty energetic waterfalls seem to be everywhere. Even though Brúarfoss is small compared to others, it might be the most stunning gem of them all. The many streams of cascading water gently drop into the river below, creating a picture-perfect scene.

This was a 3 second exposure, and a sturdy tripod was a must.

The Háifoss Waterfall in Iceland’s Highlands plunges 400 feet into a deep canyon carved through roughly two-million-year-old layers of volcanic rock. It’s one of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland and an absolutely spectacular sight.

Of all the incredible places we visited on this trip, this was one of my favorite views. There’s something about standing at the edge of this immense canyon and watching the waterfall drop into the depths below that is memorizing.

This is the Kvernufoss waterfall in southern Iceland. It’s an easy 20-minute hike through a beautiful gorge to reach this amazing sight. The trail actually wraps around the waterfall, giving you the opportunity to get photographs like this from behind the falls.

There’s more to Iceland than its breathtaking landscapes. We also had some opportunities to photograph the Atlantic Puffins that call Iceland home during the summer months.

I found it nearly impossible to choose just one image to share, so here are several of my favorites. These colorful birds are so fun to watch, and every bit as beautiful as the Icelandic landscapes that surround them.

Next up on our photography tour of Iceland is the spectacular Dyrhólaey Peninsula. This dramatic coastline offers tremendous views of the North Atlantic Ocean, sweeping black sand beaches, towering volcanic cliffs, and plenty of Atlantic Puffins.

We arrived shortly before sunset, just in time to capture the soft, magical glow of the evening light as it swept across this incredible landscape.

One afternoon we hiked up a trail with this beautiful stream running alongside it. We carefully maneuvered down a small ravine to reach the water and discovered this scene. Just another typical day excursion in Iceland.
