Photographers, we need to start protecting our work from AI misuse in our client agreements. This is one way to do that. Unfortunately, there isn’t much legislation that clearly helps us navigate these situations, and given our current political dynamic, I doubt that will happen anytime soon. So until they are clearer protections in place, photographers need to be proactive.

This isn’t about being anti-AI. It’s about protecting the value of your work. And it’s about how to use AI ethically.

I did a whole podcast episode on this last year. The link to my podcast pages in my bio.

Drop your comments below on how you’re handling this situation. I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts on this. Please share so we can spread knowledge and awareness. 🙏

Sometimes my podcast guests ask me some great questions! In this case Keran Look Loy asked me what are the biggest things I’ve learned as an entrepreneur, both positive and negative.

1 - I had to create my own structure where it didn’t exist and I couldn’t rely on motivation alone.
2 - I’ve learned to surround myself with people that support me and that I can grow with.

At a model bootcamp with Ford Models Miami Ben Amare 🇪🇹 Miami Videographer & Photographer and I were asked: “What qualities make you want to work with a model again?”

Modeling is a relationship business, just like photography.

Yes, skill matters. Presence matters. Knowing how to move, take direction, and perform on camera matters.
But there’s also an intangible quality that separates certain models from everyone else.

It’s the ability to build genuine creative relationships.
The models I want to work with again are the ones who understand that this industry is not just about one shoot, one post, or one opportunity. It’s about building trust over time. It’s about showing up with professionalism, awareness, consistency, and a real investment in the people around you.

When you make people feel like you care about their growth, their vision, and their success — not just your own — that creates synergy.

And long-term synergy is powerful.

When photographers, models, brands, agencies, makeup artists, stylists, and creatives help each other grow, that’s when opportunities multiply.

Modeling isn’t just about being seen.

It’s about being remembered, trusted, and becoming someone people want to build with.

Look and talent will get you booked. Preparation, mindset, situational awareness and the ex*****on of your talent are what get you booked repeatedly.

I was invited to speak at a Model Boot Camp for Ford Models Miami with fellow photographer Ben Amare 🇪🇹 Miami Videographer & Photographer and we were asked the question “what makes models stand out on set?”

On a commercial shoot, it’s not about making the shoot about you. It’s about helping the client bring the vision to life. I’ve personally seen both ends of the spectrum. I’ve seen models get kicked off set because they didn’t know that the shoot wasn’t about them. And I’ve seen clients cry on set because they saw the model bringing their brand to life for the first time.

That’s the difference between being photogenic and being professional.

Thank you celeste martinez for asking the questions that matter! 🙏

Two tips that I dropped today at the model bootcamp at Ford Models Miami to help models who are starting out.

1 - Get in the mindset of knowing what you’re selling and pose with that goal in mind.
2 - Try restricting certain body parts in order to mentally free up others.

These are things that I teach when developing models. More knowledge coming soon…
