This season comes and goes so quickly. One moment our baskets are overflowing with mangoes, and suddenly the trees are empty and we are missing them, wishing we had preserved more in the freezer or made jam.

Dakota played sweet melodies as we created. We entered a flow state as the sun set and the mosquitoes came out to drink from our mango-infused skin. I’ve been wanting to shoot with Dakota for quite some time. I’m grateful we made this happen and documented these peak summer Florida vibes, in communion with this sweet fruit and all that it represents and reminds us of like home, community, creation, friendship, sharing what nature so abundantly provides in this tropical landscape. Giving and receiving love through these special fruits that bless us each summer.

Dakota called me and said I needed to come over as soon as possible. The backyard mango trees were “having a moment.”
Dakota and the mangoes became the moment captured on film. We ended this session covered in mosquito bites and mango juice after the sun descended past the horizon.

This Sunday Aug. 9th I’ll be hosting a mango tasting & mango grove tour with Mina in Boynton Beach from 5-7pm! We’ll be enjoying the last mangoes of the season.
You’ll walk away with a framed mango print, a handmade journal, tons of mango facts & a belly full of delicious mangoes. DM me if you’d like to come & I will send you the invitation with all the details. 🥭
