For 16 weeks, I had the privilege of being part of **Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Cohort 43 at Delgado Community College**—and it has already changed the way I think about MillerFoto and our future.

We didn’t just sit in a classroom and talk about business. We dug deep into our companies—our numbers, operations, leadership, marketing, employees, opportunities, challenges, and most importantly, our plans for growth.

For 16 weeks, we challenged the way we have always done things. We identified new opportunities, built a real growth plan, learned from some incredible business owners, and were pushed to think bigger about what our companies could become.

One of my biggest takeaways was realizing that **growth doesn’t happen by accident. It has to be planned, measured, and acted on.**

I’m already putting what I learned into action at MillerFoto—from expanding our college and university photography business, to improving our systems, strengthening our team, and creating new opportunities for growth.

I’m extremely grateful to the faculty, advisors, business owners, and everyone involved with **Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses and Delgado Community College**.

Proud to be a graduate of **Cohort 43**—and even more excited about what comes next.

School is starting and everyone want's to post about it.

BUT - STOP and THINK before you post to social media with too much personal information.

Before you post those adorable first-day-of-school photos, take a second look.

A child’s name, teacher, grade, school, favorite things, and other personal details may seem innocent—but together they can give someone with bad intentions far more information than they should have.

Celebrate the milestone, but if you want to post your little one online, consider keeping the unique details off social media. Share those memories privately with family and friends instead.

A few small changes today can help protect your child’s privacy tomorrow.

MORE SCHOOL TIPS from Candid Color Systems

Tips for School Portrait Photographers
For a smooth fall portrait season, here are a few tips!

1. SERVICE ITEMS: Know what service items your schools needs and when they need to be delivered.

1. This includes ID Cards, Admin Exports, Stickers, Mug Books and Yearbook Exports.

2. ID CARDS: If providing ID cards, print test cards and get approval on the design and confirm barcodes and QR codes scan properly.

3. EXPORTS: For admin & yearbook exports you'll need to get the specs for your export.
1. What image aspect ratio is needed?
2. What data needs to be included?
3. How should the files be named?

4. # of PHOTO STATIONS: Make sure you calculate the number of photographers needed to get everyone photographed in the allowed time. Add extra time if printing ID cards on sight.

5. PICTURE DAY: Know how students will arrive to the portrait area. If using QR scan cards, sort your cards appropriately for quick distribution.

1. Ask the school for assistants to help get student to and from the portrait area efficiently. Assistants can be older students and/or parent volunteers

2. Stay on time and have a goal to be finished by lunch

State Champion Edna Karr Expects Excellence—MillerFoto Delivers a Championship-Level Senior Portrait Day

Each senior received a professional portrait experience and had the opportunity to select their yearbook portrait before leaving. That meant no guessing, no confusion, and no uncertainty about which image would appear in the yearbook.

Graduation Photos Coming Soon - I am proud to officially be a graduate—and now an alumnus—of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program at Delgado Community College!

This 16-week experience was far more than a business class. It was a transformative educational journey that challenged me to examine every part of MillerFoto—from our financial numbers and daily operations to our leadership, marketing, staffing, and long-term growth strategy.

The program gave me practical tools, expert guidance, and a network of incredible business owners who openly shared their experiences, challenges, and ideas.

We are already putting what I learned into action. The changes we have begun making are helping us become more organized, more strategic, and better prepared to grow MillerFoto throughout Louisiana and the Gulf South.

Graduation may mark the end of the program, but it is only the beginning of the transformation.

I am grateful to Goldman Sachs, Delgado Community College, our instructors, business advisors, and my fellow Cohort 43 graduates for an unforgettable experience.

Now it is time to execute the growth plan!
