I wasn’t expecting a nearly full moon to rise over Cathedral Rock during this surprise proposal, and just as the sun set and the red rocks started to glow to boot. It felt as if the joy between these two was suddenly reflected in the landscape all around them. Witnessing serendipitous moments like these are what I live for!

One of my favorite questions when getting to know couples is how they first met, as I am constantly amazed by the many ways life brings people together and sparks love. For Ashley and Matthew, it was online playing World of Warcraft. And just as amazing is the fact that many of their fellow gamers/friends traveled great distances across the country to celebrate this special day with them!

Yes, it’s totally possible to do a summer engagement session in Phoenix! Just aim for early in the day, hope for a nice overcast, monsoon morning, and pick a lush, shaded location like Boyce Thompson Arboretum. I had so much fun with Bahar and Anthony exploring the arboretum’s eucalyptus forest, pistacia grove, myrtle tree tunnel, suspension bridge, and demonstration garden! And I am looking forward to capturing many more memories together at their wedding this October!

As a surprise to celebrate their fourth anniversary and recent elopement, Gretel booked a photo session for her and her husband Carlos on their visit to Sedona. The two shared a memorable sunset overlooking the red rocks, and had a wonderful time honoring their love and new chapter together. ❤️

We have too many favorite moments from Haley and Victor’s wedding to fit them all here, but let’s just start by saying that Haley and Victor were genuinely sweet and kind people, which we could easily see in the close bonds that they shared with their wedding party members and family. Other highlights were the private vows Haley and Victor exchanged in the fountain courtyard at Regency Garden; an emotional first look between Haley and her father; the post-ceremony kiss in the aisle; Victor’s custom Miata; a love story wall backdrop of artfully folded books crafted by the bride and groom; and oversized photos of their pet cats that bobbed on the reception dance floor! 😻🤘 Congrats to Haley and Victor! ❤️
