I got some crazy news, October is just beginning and I’m closing my books for sessions until the new year 🫣 We’re still taking 2 more weddings in 2027, and will begin sessions again January 2nd. But to make sure we’re best serving our current couples and families, as well as able to make room for engagements for our wedding couples, we are closing out 2026. It’s a great feeling being so supported by so many people.

As a photographer I have many blessings to count, but there’s one particular that I’ve been making a point to count a few extra times lately.

When I pick up my camera I’m reminded how I’m the bridge between observer and observed. It’s my job to capture not only a moment, but an emotion, a timeless sentiment to be looked at be way more people than just myself. Even more, I get to sit there at my table, and look at somebody’s face as they look at their favorite person. I get to look at so many faces as they look at their entire world. Sometimes I have sessions where that really hits home.

If I could share the love Alex and Lucas have for each other, I’m convinced the world would be absolutely happy in that moment. There was a moment during their surprise proposal that I took my face off the screen and just took it in. Instead of through a screen, I looked at Lucas’ face as he told Alex how much he loved her, and in that face everything else disappeared. I quickly had to remind myself I had a job to do and needed to lock it up, but the power a face has wasn’t lost on me.

Now, I get to edit a whole gallery of these two looking at each other. In truth, I don’t know how I’m going to ever get through it with clear eyes. Hell, two waterfalls are pouring from my face now.

One day my camera will get put down for the last time…but that’s not for a really freaking long time. I love, love. I love what I do, I wish everybody could get to see what I am blessed with.

A love not like flame, but a flowing river.

Let me paint a picture for you. I was editing in some sweats, lights off, while munching on some peanut butter filled pretzels. I go to stand up, crumbs falling everywhere, and as I turn on the light just jump scare myself after staring at this beautiful couple for so long.
