Magnificent and alluring
Enchanting and beautiful
Stands Ice Castles
Like a mirage in the distance

This was a huge iceberg and immediately felt like it was the most magnificent castle I had ever seen. Lots of little archways entering the palace inside. Surrounded by a huge moat which water was smooth as glass.

The landscapes in Ilulissat, Greenland are filed with wispy arctic cotton grass. Fluffy fibers of the tufty seed heads help in wind dispersal of the seeds and insulate the plant by trapping heat. It's a bit beaten down in this photo due to a winter storm but I like the sense of motion it adds to the scene.

This is one of the first big icebergs I saw. The sailing ship, like the one I was on shows how massive they are and what a spec in this universe we are. To be there and see these is an experience I will never forget.

Fire and Ice. The setting sun hitting the ice like hundreds of burning golden embers. I loved seeing this huge chunk of ice floating by. The deep blue with splotches of aqua and glitter from the sun. Amazing contrasts and textures.
