Nobody ever says, “I wish we had fewer photographs of him.”

But I’ve heard plenty of people wish they had more.

Most of the men in these portraits didn’t come in because they love being photographed.

They came because it mattered to someone they love.

And honestly, I’m okay with that.

Because one day these images won’t belong only to them.

They’ll belong to their children.

Their grandchildren.

The people who will look back and be grateful they exist.

That’s what Legacy is all about.🩶

Here’s something I’ve noticed…

Most of the men you see in this series didn’t walk into the studio excited about having their portrait taken.

In fact, many of them would probably tell you they don’t like being photographed.

But they showed up anyway.

For their families.
For their businesses.
For the people who love them.
For the legacy they’re building.

And every single one left seeing themselves a little differently. Maybe that’s why I love photographing men.

Not because they’re comfortable in front of the camera. Because most of the time, they’re not.

It’s because somewhere between “I don’t really want to do this” and seeing the final portrait, something shifts. And that’s my favorite part.

They realize these photographs were never about vanity. They were about being remembered.

The cover image might look like this session was about a mother and daughter.

But that was actually one of the last photographs we created.

We started with the entire family, then photographed Blanca with her grandchildren, her children, each individual family, and finally the couples.

By the time we made that last portrait, the pressure was gone. Everyone had relaxed, and we had already documented every branch of the family tree.

What I love most about sessions like this is knowing that every image matters for a different reason.

Some celebrate a relationship.

Some celebrate a season of life.

And some, like this one, celebrate the entire family.
