✨️The Reluctant Guy Blueprint✨️

Parents of Senior Guys: Read this if your son hates having his photo taken. 👋🧢

​I get it. High school guys usually dread senior portraits because they picture being forced into stiff, awkward poses and fake-smiling for an hour.
​My goal is to make sure they actually enjoy the experience—or at the very least, find it completely painless! Here are 3 tricks I use to get natural, relaxed photos of guys:
​1️⃣ Give them a lean: Standing flat-footed feels awkward. Leaning casually against a pillar or sitting back against a favorite truck tire instantly drops physical tension.
2️⃣ Keep the hands busy: I'll never leave him standing there wondering what to do with his arms. We give his hands a job—crossing them, slipping a thumb in a pocket, or holding a cap.
3️⃣ The Look-Away: Some of my favorite, most genuine shots are when I tell them to look off-camera. It captures a relaxed, confident expression without the pressure of staring down a lens.

Next month, the Class of 2027 officially begins their senior year. 🥹 Therefore, I am dedicating this June to focusing on the Class of 2027. 🎓✨

​To the moms out there looking at your kids right now and wondering how on earth they are about to start their senior year of high school next month... I see you!! I completely understand that knot in your throat.
​The photos below are of my own son from his senior portrait session two years ago. Next month, he packs up and moves away to finish his last two years of college. Trust me when I say: the days are long, but the years are incredibly short.

​Senior year flies by in a blink. Let’s make sure we freeze this chapter beautifully.
