Some days nature just gets it.
This little guy is on alert and feeling upset. He’s just hollering away— and honestly? Same.
A few weeks ago our family experienced a loss that changed everything. The grief is very present, and sometimes I just want to holler away too. But, I have children of my own, and moving forward isn’t negotiable — it’s something I need to do. For them. For him. For me. As hard as it is, I must continue moving forward.
The herons kept growing while I was away. It’s time to come back to the story. Part three will be coming soon. See you in the stillness. 🩶

There is a quiet kind of waiting before anything takes flight. Before the sky…there is stillness.

Tucked into the branches, this is where it begins
- fragile, easy to miss and unfolding slowly over time.

✨Some things hide by becoming something else entirely.

For all my fellow Gen X'ers — his neck stretched up just like ET!😂 Meet the American Bittern. When a hawk circles overhead, he doesn't flee. He stretches his neck long and thin, tilts his bill to the sky, and becomes a reed. His streaked brown feathers do the rest. If the wind moves, he moves with it.

I was so mesmerized watching him hold that pose I didn't even notice the sound at first. Then I heard it — the high-screeching sound of a hawk. Worth Noticing. 🌿
