Nice article about Neil Peart's life, what was happening during Rush's final tour and the aftermath of his death.

Rush’s virtuoso drum hero lived by his own rules, to the very end. For the first time since Peart’s passing, his bandmates and widow discuss his legacy and his final years

Time rolls on
N' that's as it should be
Here and gone
Seems to move so quickly

Man, we was happy
In our restless hearts
It was heaven, right here on earth

Yeah, we were laughin'
As we reached for the stars
And we had some
For what it was worth

Those were good times
Damn good times

The talent, creativity and the flat out bad-assery of this man has kept me interested and inspired pretty much my entire life. I remember hearing "Dance The Night Away" on the radio when I was young, thinking what a great and catchy song it was. His picture was on the wall in my bedroom, and in my locker at school. I used to put a Van Halen logo on all my schoolbooks. I've got the Van Halen catalog on cassette, vinyl, and CD. Now, 40 years later (thanks to the time I have available because of COVID) I've finally started digging into some guitar lessons, and what am I working on? "Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love" and "Runnin With The Devil." So long Eddie Van Halen - thank you for all the music. This is heartbreaking.

Eddie Van Halen has passed away after a long battle with cancer. The legendary VAN HALEN guitarist was 65 years old. His death was confirmed by his son, and VAN HALEN bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen. ...

Last Fall, I was in Los Angeles for the first time and was able to go see Quiet Riot play The Whiskey, which, as it turns out, was one of Frankie's last shows. I happened to be at The Whiskey earlier in the day taking photos as he arrived for the load in. We had a brief chat and I told him about the countless hours I spent when I was in high school listening to Metal Health and Condition Critical, which brought a smile to his face. This video captures his address to the crowd. The web page he referenced is https://www.pancan.org. Donations are accepted. RIP Frankie.

Masquerade Fans, Friends and Family: As the days without live music drag on, we are continuing the fight for funding to allow our entire industry to survive. On June 18 a letter was delivered to congress signed by over 1100 artists, from Foo Fighters to Lady Gaga, and from Wyclef Jean to Zac Brown Band, urging their support for the Independent Live Music Industry. You can read the letter here: https://www.nivassoc.org/artists-letter-to-congress

We are now asking for your support once again.

👉 Save Our Stages 👈

Please visit the site, and let your elected representatives know that you support the bi-partisan Re-Start Act for the live music industry. You can read about the legislation here: https://masq.in/Re-Start_Act

Even if you have done this previously, we need to to do it again today as this message is a new one.

Without the help this legislation provides, it is likely that 90% of independent venues will not survive! Read the facts here: https://masq.in/Policy_FactSheet

All you need to do is fill in your info and the form will automatically find your Reps and send your message. After doing so there is also the option to tweet at them.

We really appreciate your support and cannot wait to see you again!

RIP Charlie Daniels. My very first concert ever! "Southern Rock" (as it was called) was all the rage when I was young, and my friends and I used to spend hours listening to the likes of Charlie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band and one of my personal favorites, Blackfoot. I always loved Charlie's "story songs" - he painted pictures with words, and had that fiery violin to back it up.
