It’s been a while since I’ve been back to Monument Valley. A lot has changed inside the park, mostly to help keep people safe. You can’t even walk out to John Ford’s Point anymore. Sad to see, but I understand why they had to do it.
I was telling the guys about the summers I worked at Goulding’s when I was a teenager. I’ve got so many great memories from those days. That’s where I met Patrick Swayze, and I also met Tom Hanks when they were filming Forrest Gump.

Took the scenic route home today, felt good to slow things down for a bit. Supposed to hit the 80s this weekend, just in time for Mother’s Day.
It’s always a mixed feeling for me. I love celebrating it, but it also brings up the reality of growing up without a present mom or father. Still figuring out how to hold both of those feelings at once…
