Headshots vs brand photos - what’s the difference?
I had a potential call yesterday who inquired about headshots but after we talked for a few minutes, we realized that a branding session was more of what she was looking for.
Your headshot is a very functional close-up (usually mid-torso and up) photo of you, often smiling and often looking at the camera. It’s great for profile photos, author photos and for being a quick intro to you on your website. It’s a way for people to start to get to know you.
Brand photos, on the other hand, start to tell more of your story so that your customers get to not just know you, but like you and trust you! We include more of your personality and possibly a peek behind-the-scenes as your work. These photos can be used in all sorts of ways: on your website, in your newsletter, on your social media, in custom graphics, on event posters, etc.
For Heather’s photo shoot, we did a little of both so she had maximum flexibility in her marketing her books (she’s an awesome author) moving forward.
So if you know you want photos of you for your business, let’s set up a time to chat so we can find out what you really need and build a custom shoot just for you!
