I had two bat mitzvahs this weekend and at both temples, you really have to teeter on the edge in order to get photos of people reading from the Torah. Every grandparent there kept reminding me how close to the edge I was and how nervous they were that I would fall! I felt bad making everyone nervous but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get the shot!

Kids are almost done with school for the year which means there’s more time for family photos! 😃 Don’t forget to schedule a session in the next couple of months if the school year is just too hectic to get anything booked. It may be toasty but early mornings and evenings are still comfortable and we can always get creative with indoor options!

There is a lot of discussion on social media right now about how to have more affordable weddings. One popular suggestion I've seen is to not tell your vendors that the event is a wedding. Just simply tell them you're having a family event and that will help you avoid the "wedding tax" that vendors place on their services just because it's a wedding and they think they can charge more for it.

My photography services are more expensive for weddings than for other events but there's a good reason - the services themselves are different and more involved! If you want to hear more about why I think you shouldn't hide your wedding from your vendors, check out my latest blog post!
