During our last Apopka Wildlife visit…Mike and I…(Mike’s my incredible brother💯)…were looking Purple Gallinule when we luckily came upon my first ever…two female Boat-tailed Grackles!🤗…having a wonderful breakfast…of berries…and more berries.🫐🫐These beautiful Graks were moving all over this big berry tree, eating and chatting…as friends will do.🙏🏻❤️ Have a great weekend…relax and have fun!🎉

So, back on the ranch, I mean my backyard in Maitland😎…it’s been very hot🌞😥…but the place has been jumping🎉…from early morning to sundown.👏🏻 This male Red-winged Blackbird stopped in yesterday…had a quick lunch and a Mountain Dew. As he left, he did say good-bye 👋🏻…a nice gesture and a nice moment.🤗 Thanks, Mr. Red…hope to see you today…bring your friends.🙏🏻

A nice moment…two friends…a Glossy Ibis and Black-necked Stilt…having breakfast together at one of Apopka Wildlife’s roadside cafes.🤗No fighting, no anxiety😬…just doing what birds do…enjoying their day as best they can🤗…in the wild world of Nature.🙏🏻👍🏻

This Grey-headed Swamphen…dancing in the wetlands of the Apopka Wildlife Drive experience.🤗 His PR guy sent me a text complaining that the Purple Gallinules are getting all the posts.😡He probably was right🫢 so I hoped this fun moment would calm him down.🙏🏻 Mr. S. Hen has feelings…and he sure likes having a good time…or so it seems.🤔 I hope all is well now in Apopka.🙏🏻😎

The Great Blue Heron…a majestic resident in wetlands of the Apopka Wildlife Drive destination.🤗 My brother Mike and I came up Mr. Blue enjoying a sunny morning🌞...before he flew away…looking for his breakfast…no doubt 🫢😎 A couple of nice moments from a member of Apopka’s royalty.🤴🏻 🙏🏻

Another special Purple Gallinule moment🤗…normally these colorful beauties are found roaming through the swamps and muck of various wetlands.🫢 Not last Friday!😳 My brother Mike, spotted this one flying around a big patch of giant green leaves😍…quite the different environment we normally enjoy watching this member of the “Purple Gang”.😎Thanks Mike…as always.🙏🏻🙏🏻

The Northern Flicker Woodpeckers were out in force (at least 3)…last Friday during our Apopka Wildlife adventure with my brother, Mike. 🤗 I finally got to spend some time with these incredible birds.😍Mike loves Mr. Flicker…and now I know why.💯 Beautiful colors, unique features…Awesome bird.🥰 I hope this is not the last time we encounter these woodpeckers…in Apopka or anywhere.🙏🏻👍🏻

This Purple Gallinule was waiting for my brother, Mike and I yesterday as we entered the Apopka Wildlife wetlands.😍 He welcomed us with “open wings”. 🤗 We saw so many of our favorite friends of Nature…one of our best visits yet👍🏻…but I say that each time we go this magical place in central Florida.👏🏻 Thanks Mother Nature🙏🏻…and thanks, Mike for being such a great guide💯and incredible brother!.🙏🏻❤️

With all my“big beautiful feathered wingspan” talk …the last couple of days,🤗 I would be terribly remiss if I didn’t give the “King” his due…The American Bald Eagle.🤴🏻💯 If he’s not the King of “feathers and wings”🤔How about the Prince? 🫢😎 Have a wonderful weekend…loaded with fun…and a few laughs…with your loved ones.🙏🏻🙏🏻

He didn’t eat…he didn’t drink…this Tufted Titmouse had just one purpose for his visit yesterday.🫢Mr. Tufted just wanted to tell all the bullies…like the Blue Jays…”I have big, beautiful wings, too!”😡 “David and Goliath”…in my backyard.😎 Incredible. 🙏🏻
