The Crowned Woodnymph was on the move, as most hummingbirds are🫢…when Mike and I met up with this beautiful Colibri🤗 walking the forest paths in the Copalinga Lodge in Zamora, Ecuador.😉 Mr. Wood sure is colorful😍…and fun to watch. I’m happy I captured a couple of moments from our encounter. 🙏🏻 So is Mike. 😎

The male Vermillion Flycatcher😍 Mike and I were waiting…and hoping🙏🏻 for this handsome little fella to show up in our friends, Jeanneth and Santiago’s backyard.🤗 And then…there he was🫣…perched perfect…right in front of us.🫢😳 I got real nervous😬 but was able to get a nice perched image…with a bonus fly away. 🤩 Wow!…lucky again. ☘️😉I hope you have a great weekend…and a “lucky one” too. 🙏🏻😎 🇪🇨

Mike and I were lucky enough to watch and photograph this female Vermilion Flycatcher “showing off”😍…in our long time, dear friends, Santiago and Jeanneth’s front yard in Tumbaco, Ecuador.🤗 Jeanneth says Mr. And Mrs. Vermilion are daily visitors to their beautiful home…and she didn’t exaggerate. 💯🤩 Stay tuned for some more nice moments with these awesome birds 😉…as soon as I can find them…I took about a zillion photos on our adventure to Ecuador. 🫢😎

Ecuador is world famous for its hundreds of beautiful, colorful and rare birds🤩…even Muscovy Ducks.🫢As Mike and I followed our guide and long-time friend, Alejandro along the forest paths of Copalinga Ecolodge in Zamora, Ecuador, I heard some serious “yapping”😳…coming from a nearby small pond. As we approached, we saw Mr. Muscovy flapping his feathers like a hummingbird. 😉 His performance was awesome! Here are a couple of moments from his incredible “show.” 🤗As Mike told me “Ducks are birds, too.” No argument from me…Mike’s always right. 💯👍🏻 So is Alejandro!!🙏🏻 Me? Once in a while…if I’m lucky. 😎 🇪🇨

What’s a visit to a cloud forest in Ecuador…without encountering a beautiful, energetic Rose-Faced Parrott?🤔 Mike and I were lucky enough to find a flock of these handsome, colorful fellas in the trees of the Amagusa reserve.🤗😉They loved to fly around and that was ok with us. 👍🏻 Their wingspans were like rainbows…so many colors, so stunning in good light.😍We spent some real time with these birds and captured some nice moments.🤩 Nice, very nice experience.🙏🏻🙏🏻 🇪🇨

The Roadside Hawk…Yesterday, this feared predator showed me why he’s named Roadside.😳 Mike and I came upon this tough guy three times🤗…as we walked the back roads of Borja, Ecuador. Our first two meetups…he was perched…in a light rain.😢 However, when we found Mr. Roadside the third time…he was perched in beautiful sunlight.😍 And as the saying goes, the third time is the charm.☘️ When he flew away, it was very exciting and so fun to photograph…especially since the images were in focus.😉 And finally, for the first time ever, I am proud to say I was the one to spot this hawk before Mike did.👍🏻 Incredible…but very lucky…as Mike is the World Champion wildlife spotter in our family…without question!💯❤️

As Mike and I walked the forest paths of the Copalinga Ecolodge in Zamora, Ecuador, we came upon some White-fronted Capuchin monkeys.🤗 There were at least six of these amazing animals in this troop🫢…including “Mom Capuchin” and her adorable baby.😍 My new “niece”…Christina…chose

This Fork-tailed Woodnymph…is another reason Ecuador is so famous for its hummingbirds…aka Colibri. Yesterday Mike and I found this little beauty bouncing around some beautiful purple flowers…looking for tasty nectar…on a forest path…in the Buglas Nature Reserve in Limon, Ecuador. Mr. Wood is stunning…with his dark blue body, incredible wingspan, and green iridescent throat. Quite the handsome fella. Wouldn’t you agree?🙏🏻 🇪🇨
