The greatest gift I have ever been given was the gift of being the one to steward you both.
God chose me, he gave me the duty to love you, to protect you, to guide you, and to hold your hands no matter where we go.

My heart has never been the same since you both came into this world, & I still can’t believe I was chosen to be yours.

God has been so good to me. Being your mommy has been my greatest adventure yet.

This week has been remarkably beautiful, one I couldn’t have expected. Creating imagery like this is only the beginning & I can’t begin to explain how a little bit of creativity, community, and love go a long way.

This is how I see, & I’ll continue striving to create beauty like this, for as long as the Lord allows me to see it.

Hannah & Mike 💍

From our first phone call, I think all three of us knew right away we’d be friends. The laughter, the small little jokes, & overall joy they bring is unmatched.

Hannah is a ray of sunshine & Mike only emphasizes it more. The fun & spontaneous nature of these two is something I seriously just cant get over.

With a little bit of country flare & a little old fashioned making in the tall grasses. We stomped around on their family heirloom property of over 400+ acres located in the Driftless region of Wisconsin butted up right to the Ice age trial where they will be getting married amongst their closest family & friends come this summer.

To say I’m excited is an understatement. With them having this much joy on their engagement session only makes me more excited to see their true emotions come wedding day!

Hi, I’m Shelby 🤍 & if you’re new here, welcome!

I’m a Wisconsin wedding photographer with 13 years of experience. And yes, the cowboy boots are saved for Sundays, but my heart? My heart belongs out west.

Here’s a little about me, however I do suggest meeting me for coffee to get to know me more.
I’m a Wisconsin girl, born and raised. I know these venues, I know this light, and I know that nothing hits quite like a golden Wisconsin summer evening. I’m beyond proud to call this place home and so proud to photograph love stories here.

I’m a wife and a mama to two little girls and a GSD who are the greatest gifts I’ve ever been given. They’re the reason I understand more than ever how fast the moments that matter most can slip by and why I take it so seriously to hold onto them for you.

I love the outdoors through and through. You’ll find me in my garden, tending to our chickens, being in awe of a beautiful sunset, taking a walk with my family in the evenings, or attempting to cook in the kitchen, because i love it. I love learning new things, and I think genuine connection over a really good cup of coffee is one of life’s greatest gifts. Because coffee is pure joy in my mind.

My faith is the foundation of everything. I truly believe that photography is not something I just chose it’s what the Lord called me to. This is His will for my life, and I feel that in my soul every single time I pick up my camera. He has given me this gift so that I can give back, so that I can serve people on some of the most sacred, vulnerable, beautiful days of their lives. I don’t take that lightly. Loving and serving others well is at the very core of who I am, and it shapes every single thing about how I show up for you.

After 13 years, I still get the same coffee and a donut at Kwik trip on wedding mornings. I still sit in awe that I get to do this everyday. Gods truly blessed me, abundantly.

Your dog belongs in your wedding photos.

Not because it’s a trend. Because they are yours.
They’ve been there through every version of your life, the apartment you moved into together, the hard conversations, the lazy Sundays, the seasons that no one else witnessed. They don’t know what a wedding is. They just know you. And they show up for you the same way they always have.

There is something that happens when a dog is present on a wedding day that I don’t think words fully do justice to. I’ve watched a groom completely fall apart during a first look, not when he saw his bride, but when their dog came around the corner with her. I’ve seen a bride stop in the middle of getting ready, kneel down, and just hold her dog for a moment, no words, just that. I’ve seen dogs tucked into pews between family members, sitting at the dinner table like honored guests, curled up under the sweetheart table as the night wound down. Just there. Present for all of it. The way they always are.
That is not a small thing. That is everything.

Because your dog isn’t a prop. They’re not a detail or an add-on. They are a member of your family, and your wedding day is a family day. Having them there, really there, woven into the moments, not just posed for one quick shot means your story is told completely. It means years from now, you look back at those images and see your whole life reflected back at you. Not just who you were that day, but everything that brought you there.

We lost our girl a 2 weeks ago today. And I can tell you with everything in me those images are not just photographs. They are proof. Proof that she was part of it. That on the most significant day, she was exactly where she always was, next to me, at my feet. The pain I feel for her being gone is immense, but I feel so much joy knowing the Lord trusted me with her.

If your dog is important to you, they belong there. Don’t minimize that. Don’t talk yourself out of it.
Because one day you will hold those images and feel something no other photo from that day can give you.
Bring them. Let them be in it. Let them stay. Let them love you exactly where you are at.

An adventurous Wisconsin wedding day doesn’t have to mean rushing from place to place. Sometimes it looks like this, quiet fields, golden light, and space to be fully present together.

Trusting your photographer means trusting the process, the location, and the moments that unfold naturally. Wisconsin has no shortage of beautiful landscapes when you’re willing to explore just a little and slow down.
