Lauren + Kyle 🤍

From their engagement session last fall to their wedding day on Saturday, these two have been so easygoing, happy, and completely go-with-the-flow.

Of course, Kamper got to be part of the day too, just like she was for their engagement session. 🐾

And then golden hour showed off in the BEST way. ☀️

Jill + Mike 🤍

So many smiles, giggles, happy tears, and sweet little moments filled this day.

There were emotional first looks, private vows, gorgeous views of West Bay, and even a few donkeys making an appearance. But my favorite part was simply getting to spend the day with Jill + Mike. They are both incredibly kind, joyful people, and somehow even sweeter together.

Now for the rest of this beautiful Elberta Beach family session. 🤍

Allison told me she wanted a low-pressure experience with a mix of candid moments and a few traditional family portraits, which describes my approach to family sessions perfectly.

We made time for the whole family together, photos with grandma + grandpa, and plenty of space for the boys to play, laugh, and be themselves. They were so polite, got along so well, and made the entire session so much fun.

They also introduced me to their favorite beach near Frankfort, and I can’t believe I hadn’t been there before. Elberta Beach, you are beautiful!

This was one of those families I could have happily spent hours with, and I love every part of their gallery. ✨

Happy National Photography Day! 🤍📸

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I always loved landscape photography, but once I started photographing people, I completely fell in love with it.

Before photography became my full-time job, I was an ER nurse for four years, as well as a Pediatric ICU nurse for a year. I started my photography business in 2022, and for the next few years I balanced both photography and the ER. Photography was growing quickly, and I knew how much I loved it, but leaving nursing still felt scary.

Nursing was my second degree, and I carried a lot of guilt around the idea of walking away from a career I had worked so hard for (and paid so much for!) I kept wondering if it was silly to give that up, even when photography was clearly becoming the thing I wanted to pursue full time.

Then I had my son in October 2024. When the hospital asked when I wanted to come back from maternity leave, my answer was basically... I didn’t. Juggling both jobs was hard before having a baby. Now my main focus was my son. So I had to make the choice of what career I wanted to pursue. I knew what the right choice was, despite all the “photography is just a hobby” noise I kept hearing. That choice has lead me to all of YOU!

One of my favorites because you get two lakes in one spot: North Bar Lake + Lake Michigan, plus small dunes, reflections and beautiful beach views.

One of the most versatile options, with the beach, tall pines, greenery, beach grass, a quiet road, and direct sunsets.

Bohemian Road Beach

Beach, greenery, beach grass, and a tree-lined road, all paired with softer sunset light.

Such a beautiful day at BlueBridge celebrating these two! From a tear-jerking first look and private vows on the bridge to first dances that had me crying all over again, this one had all the feelings.

Perfect weather, an incredible vendor team & a packed dance floor to end the night. When a fellow photographer trusts you to document her own wedding day, it feels like an extra special honor. 🤍
