1-on-1 mentee session, behind the scenes.

I don’t just tell someone what gear to use. I show them, in real time, and explain why.

Canon R6 + Sigma 105mm. We went through the 45-degree reflector, beauty dish, octabox, and deep parabolic so he could see what each one actually does to the light — and how his settings had to shift with it. Not just take my word for it.

Tried two savage seamless colors. Once I saw her skin tone against her makeup, I already knew dark brown was it with both models. I was editing in my head before we even shot a frame.

That’s the whole point of doing this hands-on. You don’t learn lighting from a list. You learn it watching the same light — and the same settings — change four different ways in front of you.

She had already had a morning before she ever stepped in front of my camera.

Things hadn’t gone quite as planned, there were some last-minute changes, and she came in carrying all of that with her.

But by the time we finished? Completely different energy.

The experience is just as important as the photos.

And baby…we got the photos too.
