Emma Jaimes Photography Boutique service photography: 100% custom branding, lifestyle, portraits and weddings

I'm a meant-to-go-to-law-school kid who took a photography class and 14 years later here I am. I thrive on relationships with others and creating life-long memories. I am a single mom to my two little girls, love to sing, tend to fall down at every photoshoot (many times in the water- oops), and laughing is my therapy. I talk a lot and enjoy getting to know my clients so I can create memories that

truly are themselves. I will love your babies like my own, and capture the story of their life and your love as your family grows. I thrive on branding sessions, showing the world just who you are as a business owner is one of my favorite types of sessions. While I only take on so many weddings per year, being a part of someone's most special day is one of the biggest honors one can have, and I am so appreciative every time I'm chosen for that role. I truly am so blessed to do a job I love so much that it never is a job.

My girls got hair cuts and totally grew up overnight. My word I have the most beautiful kids ever. Hair by marisa absolutely MASTERED their cuts today and they both are so confident, so happy, and loved Marisa to pieces.

Watching them both become their own person has been a gift I never could've imagined. They're exploring their styles and are two of the coolest young ladies I've ever known.

This image only took 10 minutes from start to finish to edit, and took no body/face retouching so it was considered a more clean/simple edit. But when your attention to details & distractions come in, time adds up! A half an hour mini session comes with 2-4 hours of editing for 5 digital images. So I recorded a time lapse of one client’s image.

We did a 3.5 hour session, and my word the images are so amazing!

I’d love to do a tutorial and start sharing more on editing… what’s your favorite version?

On TikTok I went through a fun little back and forth with someone who suggested that anyone that charges over $200 for photos is ripping off their customers.

Once every week or two, I get snarked on and asked why just 5 digital photos (and the session and proof gallery) costs $400+.

And then... I spend an hour playing with techniques, editing style and retouching one of those 5 images, and deliver 23093 versions with different color grades.

One of my favorite photographers does a luxe mini session with 10 digital images for $950.

Many thanks to the clients that love my work, my style, and trust that they're investing good pennies into a session with me.

What's your fav? OG image, standard edit, "dreamy" edit, and my fav black and whites (a tin type tone!) come with most all shots.

Messy hair. Gel pen tattoos. Mismatched clothes. Sparklers. Junie B Jones era. Michael Jackson moves. To be a tweenaged girl again. Girlhood is beautiful.

These photos are technically horrid, yet I'm obsessed. ll I get are 90s nostalgic vibes from my own childhood. And now I'm watching my kids with their friends and our neighbors... and just so happy.

First decade down! My girl hit double digits today. So proud of Goose. Life can be interesting at times, but she’s here to win.

My sweet girl… finally got her monkey cake. Happy Birthday my Grayson. We love you.

Getting this little stink to smile in photos has always been my biggest task. She’d turn around or cover her face.

She turns 10 next week and loves having her photo taken… well, sometimes.

You're late, you're late, for a very important date!

Spring is coming to an end, and although I end every shoot looking like a swamp monster of sorts so the time of year is irrelevant, if you want a cooler session let's get you on the books!

Ready to book? Ask me how you can get 5 free digitals :). Have to reshare this super fun photo with all the colors of summer.

Another fun little post about the EJP process...

I'll always speak on the elephant in the room. Photography is expensive. Professional photographers... are expensive. Most people think we just push buttons and throw filters on. I'm often asked what filter I'm using on my EJP photos. The thing is.. sometimes I'll spend 30 minutes.. even an hour... editing one image. It's not always, but usually there's one shot with every client that makes me want to just keep going.

When you get a gallery, you'll see the same image edited 2, 3 + times more often than not. I'll play with tones, get weird with colors, add a lot of whimsy and "magic". I also will edit with a crisp clean, "Jaime" style and spend just a few minutes on an image.

This was a fun example of my indecisive mind, playing with different tools in different ways, and the end game. I've had gen Z tell me my photos look too "AI". Or some that think they're too much color. A girl loves her contrast, what can I say!

These are in order:

1. TRUE RAW photo- camera to computer.
2. Raw processed jpegs (what I send to clients in their proof gallery- edited for light, contrast and sometimes sharpness)
3. A standard, clean edit. I've perfected my base line process and created an action that 99.999% of photos get. I'll make a few image necessary adjustments individually, but for the most part, this is my standard edit. Every wedding photo I shoot will have this level or more of editing.
4. When you purchase edits, your photos will have this level of edit or more. Getting rid of eye sores, retouching skin/clothing, adding a few little touches. With weddings, a good half get this level. Photos that end up in my hand designed wedding albums, printed for gifts or large prints on the walls get a little extra TLC!
5. Sometimes I go crazy pants (almost always, actually) and do these super soft but vibrant, full of light and color "magical/ethereal/whimsical" photos. As much as I've tried to pull back color and do just the simple stuff, I can't. Wedding collections come with a certain # of these fun edits.

Often times, prospective clients don't know what to expect working with a professional photographer. We all have different processes with our business, so I wanted to make a post for potential clients to know what to expect!

Step 1- Booking. Choose between a mini/full/extended session (pricing at https://www.emmajaimes.com/invest-with-ejp)

Step 2- Consultation. Let's get to know a bit about your goals for your session (badass editorial photos, updating your family photos, engagement photos, branding etc.). We'll curate the perfect experience so your wardrobe styling and location match YOU and help bring out you personality and represent your story.

Step 3- Photo time! A little hangout session with a super goofy photographer, where we'll get to know each other more, laugh, sing, perhaps watch me fall down (about 75% of the time), and I'll go full on paparazzi. Between guided posing, my little tricks, and the know how of when to push that button, we'll capture natural faces and raw emotions.
