I love this man. When the kids fight or can't work out their differences on their own, they get a sermon from Dad!!!

Today's sermon-
1 Cor. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Seriously, one of the best nights ever! One we won't ever forget! Disneys Lion King did not disappoint. Getting to see our buddy play Simba was incredible. Grateful for and for making tonight so special! We are grateful!

Mightyness isn't necessarily physical strength. You don't see mightiness embodied in physicality much in Jesus' story. In fact, much of the opposite is true. You see him suffering as a servant who is like a lamb being led to slaughter who is obedient to death. BECAUSE mightyness isn't necessarily something that physically overcomes so much as it is the ability and the strength to go through.

Jesus is mighty not because of his capacity to overcome hardship but because of his willingness to go through human hardship, like we have to do. It is this compassionate empathy that has the power to transform the human heart. How does God restore what it loves? By being with what God loves!!!! How does love defeat its enemy death? By accepting it and going through it. How does God show itself to be mighty? God humbles himself and owns being human. God accepts the humility and weakness of being born. God accepts the humility and vulnerability of eventually dying. It is this mighty ground that God saves the world through.

Such a great perspective on Christmas this year. With so many hurting and overcoming so much death and adversity, this gives me hope!!!! Merry Christmas!
