I re-edited this sequence of sharply dressed middle-age extras waiting on the street at a shoot. All were in immaculate period style. Shoot was at an Anton Martin district hotel. I cropped to a 16x9 cine ratio; a suggestion I learned from David Hobby in 2019.

“I’m here, Magritte was real...” Is based on the best line by Davide Frassine in 2026.

Sword and fencing shots from 2017, of a local Society For Creative Anachronism meetup here in Camarillo. This was a duel between contenders to see who would go represent at the regional semifinals later that year.

The SCA people distinguish themselves from RennFaire; by being more scholarly and accuracy-driven. I remembered something about them saluting the duelists with a golf-clap and murmurs of “hail chivalry”

The woman duelist was waxing Thee Aulde Dewds too.

Wiki: “The Society for Creative Anachronism is an international living history group with the aim of studying and recreating mainly Medieval European cultures and their histories before the 17th century.”

The local regional group for the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) covering Camarillo and Ventura County is the Shire of Darach, which can be found on Instagram at Shire of Darach.
