It’s been a busy fall. 😎

10/29/2026

Coming soon! Just a small teaser here.

Big thanks to my friends at Professional Photographers of America (PPA) for having me create some new content! What’s it like to do the same shoot at a studio vs on location.

With the help of country award-winning music singer/song travishoward into the studio then on location we created a master list of tips and tricks for both scenarios for photographers of all levels.

Stay tuned to PPA and here for the video release!

Today’s results! Thanks to Unique Photo for hosting this special event! Once again a great audience with great questions!

Big thanks to Westcott Lighting 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗼 ｜𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 Sekonic and Marc Asnin

Extra thanks to Oliveah Gilchrist for playing the parts for this demo!

We started off with Westcott’s L-120b LED with a 7’ silver umbrella with diffusion and a bare head, and then moved on to FJ400II strobes with 24” Rapid Box Beauty Dish and both the Eyelighter 2 and the 1x3 strip as options for fill. The X-Drop Pro as always a solid background option.

Thx Philly!

A few favorites from this past weekend’s L.A. Times Entertainment Envelope Insiders event. Thanks to Kim Chapin for trusting me with this challenging but amazing day!

For lighting, we went with that trusty “Spanier Stack” Westcott Lighting and fj400II as the key/fill combo using a 7’ umbrella and a 43” deep umbrella each with diffusion. We added fill on camera left using a Westcott 1x3 strip with diffusion and grid on another fj400II. We also added two Westcott V-Flats for the negative fill (and some privacy) on set.
