Perfect messages don’t move people.

Human ones do.

The pause matters.
The imperfect sentence matters.
The part that sounds like a real person matters.

Camille Zapata, honored at the LACDP JFK Awards.

For a lot of young Latinas, leadership can still feel like something they’re expected to support from the outside.

Not something they’re invited to step into.

That’s why moments like this matter.

At the LACDP JFK Awards at Dodger Stadium.

From the field to the program, the night brought together labor, elected leaders, organizers, and community voices from across Los Angeles.

The conversations happening in spaces like this shape what happens far beyond them.

Election season gets louder fast.

More updates. More reactions. More moments that feel urgent.

But people don’t remember more because we publish more.

They remember what felt important enough to carry with them.

Starbucks workers are still fighting for a contract.

This was 100 days into a strike driven by unfair labor practices, stalled negotiations, and a demand for better pay and staffing.

Moments like this don’t end when the action does.
They either disappear, or they carry.

Our job is to make sure they carry.

In solidarity with Starbucks Workers United.

Production for the People is growing.

As we expand statewide and nationally, we’re building our freelance roster of photographers, videographers, sound mixers, field directors, photo editors, and video editors.

We’re looking for people who are excellent at their craft, reliable in how they work, and aligned with the kind of stories we help tell: work rooted in community, strategy, and social impact.

We welcome talent from all backgrounds and are intentional about expanding access to opportunities for people who have historically been underrepresented in production.

Paid freelance opportunities.

If you or someone you know should be on our radar, DM us with role, location, portfolio or reel, and availability.

A photo I captured of Dolores Huerta at the last California Democratic Party Convention is now framed at CADEM headquarters in Sacramento.

The CADEM team sent this over today.

Always meaningful to see the work continue living beyond the event itself.

The workers who feed this country, care for this country, and keep it moving forward deserve dignity, protection, and respect.

Teresa Romero said it clearly: Estamos unidos.

This is what a community looks like.

Educators, school workers, parents, students. They took time they didn't have and showed up anyway. Grand Park was packed. The signs were clear. The three union presidents stood together on that stage and the crowd already knew why.

Our team covered the day across photo, video, and drone. Every angle of it.

UTLA, SEIU Local 99, and the Teamsters organized this. But the thousands who came did it because public education in Los Angeles is worth showing up for.

We had the honor of capturing SEIU President April Verrett at the “Fight the Oligarchy” rally in Los Angeles this past Saturday. Standing alongside Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other progressive leaders, President Verrett delivered a powerful message on the ongoing struggle for economic and racial justice.

In her speech, she reflected on her recent visit to Selma, Alabama, commemorating the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, and emphasized that “we’re still fighting that fight. Different tactics, same old oppression.” She called for unity and action, stating, “We can’t just protest, we gotta disrupt. We are stronger than their greed.”

The rally drew a record-breaking crowd of over 36,000 attendees, all united in the call for justice and equity.
