Apparently some wedding photographers are actually putting it in their contracts that they won’t shoot during dance lighting. No shade but that is so not my style. When a DJ sets up lighting that transforms a reception space into something like this, the last thing I want to do is put my camera away.

At the end of this reception, I started playing with the shadows and loved the extra detail these will add to this couple’s gallery.

If the DJ knows how to light the space artistically, that’s a gift and I’m grateful to be able to capture it!

Loving how these film photos from my “new” camera turned out from a recent engagement session. Can’t wait to use it for upcoming weddings too! There is something so special about capturing moments on film….plus, if anything were to ever happen long term to digital files, it creates such a great reassurance knowing that the developed film negatives are a backup option to any digital files. 💜🎞️📷
