I recently did a photo shoot with this inspiring couple: Amy Brenneman and Brad Silberling. Amy is a beautiful and gifted actress and Brad is a talented director.

They are also parents to two beautiful children and I have loved photographing their family for almost 20 years!

My last couple of posts have been about my branding photoshoots. Several people have since asked me what a branding photoshoot actually is. Well, simply put, it’s a photo session that highlights a business or entrepreneur. Unlike simple headshots the session includes the business lifestyle, product, location and behind the scenes. The images are used for websites, social media and marketing.

This branding session was with my hairdresser Amy Edwards. Amy is super talented with both cuts and color that last for months. Shea also gives the most relaxing head massages.

Amy recently moved her studio to her home and has converted her garage into a sleek, high tech studio. I love the vibe and comfortable environment she has created.

The headshot of Amy with the scissors was created with her many scissors tied to a branch with fishing wire. I removed the branch and fishing wire in photoshop so it looks like the scissors are suspended in air. This photoshoot was definitely fun - just like Amy.

Pregnant or soon to be pregnant?
Do you ever wonder about giving birth with a midwife in your own home or a birthing facility?
I was fortunate enough to spend a day with midwife Robyn Pool to take some photos for her website.
I first me Robyn more than 20 years ago when I took her pregnancy photos!
Since then Robyn has had three gorgeous children and has also embarked upon the long and rigorous journey to become a midwife. Robyn opened her practice PUSH Midwifery in 2014.
It was fascinating for me to see her in action and meet some of the real moms and newborns she has worked with. The way she interacts with these moms and families is heartwarming. I believe more women should experience these natural births if they are able too.
Robyn’s practice has two birthing rooms and tubs as well as a playroom for siblings. It is warm, modern and inviting - it really is a home away from home.
Most importantly of course is the fact that Robyn is a highly trained and well regarded midwife who cares deeply for her young families. In turn these families trust Robyn implicitly through their prenatal period, the birth and after the birth with resources like breast feeding support.
Robyn makes the birthing process a joy and her families could not love her more.
These pictures show Robyn caring and interacting with real families as well as details of her environment and the cutest big sister enjoying the playroom.

Do you love your workout?
I could not love my Pilates studio more.
So I was thrilled when they asked me to take their branding photos for their website and social media.
The studio is friendly, professional and motivating - plus every teacher is an absolute gem.
After we collaborated on the shot list and timeline, the day ran really smoothly and we were very happy with the results.
Their students showed up to participate in classes and I got some great pictures of them in action.
The teachers did a great job for their headshots and we had the best time taking the fun pyramid shot which showed off what a fun and funny group they are.
All in all this was one of my favorite photo shoots.

75 is the new 60!
Patrice Just turned 75 and she’s still glowing!
She celebrated with a photoshoot for herself and her husband John.
I photographed Patrice and John’s wedding a few years ago when they were both in their 70’s.
As you can see marriage suits them well and obviously keeps them young.
Patrice is an inspiration. Let’s all take a page from her book and celebrate ourselves every year.

Happy New Year!
2026 is going to be an unforgettable year.
We'll be celebrating our daughter Natasha's wedding to her fiancé Jack in Italy!
Here are some of their engagement photos that I had the privilege of capturing.
The breathtaking scenery and Natasha's gorgeous white gown already have me feeling like we're in Italy.
My eldest daughter Sophie, her husband Matt, and their adorable baby daughter Beatrice will be traveling from England to serve as the Maid of Honor and flower girl.
Our other European relatives will be joining us for this special occasion.
It's going to be a fantastic reunion!

Jessie and Freddy - a food blogger and sommelier - tied the knot in a beautiful Los Angeles garden surrounded by family and friends.
This was a celebration where the food and drink were front and center and extra delicious.
Everyone gathered in the garden for the heartfelt ceremony, then the speeches and first dance beside the beautiful pool. Afterwards, we went to the front yard where we were surprised by food trucks serving the most delicious food including smash burgers, tacos and the best fresh tuna roll I have ever tasted. Plus the famous Augustine wine bar - my neighborhood favorite and where Freddy is the sommelier - was right there on wheels!
The wedding cake was made out of caviar! No kidding. So original and a huge hit.
Thank you Jessie and Freddy for including me. I love you both.

Carol and Robert found each other after they had both sadly lost their spouses after each being married for more than thirty years.
In a twist of fate Carol and Robert lived on the same street a few doors down from each other but had never met until a mutual friend introduced them.
It was a perfect match and love blossomed.
Their wedding was a celebration of family, and bringing everyone together in a beautiful and intimate ceremony.
The day was filled with meaningful traditions, including the Jewish custom of breaking the glass and a chuppah in the church courtyard to symbolize their new home and new beginnings.
Carol's bridesmaids, comprised of her sisters and daughters, and her grandchildren - who traveled all the way from their home in Sri Lanka - were the page boys.

Today on World Diabetes Day, I stand with the diabetes community.

I photographed these incredible children and teens (and many others) for a fashion show fundraiser put on every year by The PADRE Foundation. l am so proud to have been taking these photos for more than two decades!

If you look closely you can see that all these children have Type 1 diabetes. How? They are all wearing diabetes pumps and/or sensors on their arms. These devices deliver life saving insulin and monitors their blood sugars.
