There’s something we don’t talk about enough in photography...
It takes vulnerability from the photographer, too.
People often think the brave one is the person stepping in front of the camera—and they are. Choosing to be seen, to trust someone with your insecurities, and to embrace your body is an incredible act of courage.
But on the other side of the lens, there’s vulnerability too.
To truly photograph someone, I have to be fully present. I have to create a space where someone feels safe enough to let their guard down. I have to earn trust, read emotions, know when to encourage, when to stay quiet, and when to simply hold space.
Every session asks me to show up with empathy, patience, and an open heart.
I celebrate with clients when they see themselves in a new light. I sit with them when emotions surface. I witness stories that are deeply personal, and I never take that responsibility lightly.
Photography isn't just about lighting, posing, or creating beautiful images.
It's about human connection.
And that connection requires vulnerability from both sides of the camera.
