To address the comments about turnout:
Our personal page was not used for promotion, nor did we have visibility into the reach or engagement of promotional posts. Despite that, we’ve consistently supported events over the years.
We’ve provided 10–15 images from nearly every race for promotional use at no charge, helped behind the scenes with scoring, passed out awards, moved hay bales, and filled gaps where help was needed simply because we care about the sport and the people in it.
We would have gladly made the six-hour drive for an agreement that felt fair and respectful to both parties. Unfortunately, the contract presented was not something we felt comfortable signing, including a requirement to pay a $100 fee for the ability to market and sell our own photographs.
That said, one thing we’ve never questioned is the commitment to rider safety. We’re thankful every rider went home safely this weekend, and we genuinely believe rider safety is something Jeff keeps at the forefront of his events. That has never been our issue.
What is difficult to understand is criticism regarding turnout while our promotional reach was not being utilized, yet photographs that we personally created at completely separate events were being used in promotional materials. Those images were taken on our own time, at our own expense, and at races promoted by others.
Photographers invest thousands into equipment, travel, software, website fees, and countless hours editing. The images don’t just appear. They’re created through hard work, long nights, and a genuine passion for the sport.
We’re proud of the support we’ve given, the riders we’ve worked with, and the relationships we’ve built over the years. We simply believe respect for photographers, their time, and their work should be a two-way street.
