Yesterday, I needed to stop and create, and nobody was available to shoot, so I set up a self-portrait session behind the studio. Looking through the photos last night, I saw the year I’d been living through. My personal and professional life had been turned upside down. I spent much of my time in solitude, praying, crying, screaming, trying to make sense of what was happening and what was going on in my own mind.

This first image feels like the darkness I endured. Looking back, I can see the beauty in that darkness. It forced me to stop, redirect my life, and reshape who I was and everything I was doing.

My Denver fashion community family, I love you all so much. Your encouragement and support, every message, every shoot, every time we sat together over pizza, all of it helped keep me moving through the darkness. You were an integral part of my healing.

I’ve been learning to notice the loops: painful memories, even beautiful ones that hurt because they’re gone. I can let them go and return to what’s here. That practice changed my perspective. I feel alive again, and I feel a beautiful momentum building in my life. If you’re struggling and want to hear what helped me, reach out.

From today’s Marie-Margot Couture bridal shoot at Lūmen Studios.

Since opening the studio last summer, it has been a dream of mine to host a bridal shoot here. Today, that dream came true with my very first bridal shoot at the studio.

I wanted to share a couple of images from the day and highlight the beautiful work of Elle and Shira, who brought such grace and strength to every frame. A huge thank you to Elena and Sky for the stunning hair and makeup artistry that brought each look to life. Elle and Shira looked absolutely incredible.

It has been such a joy working with Maggie to capture her collection. From our planning process through our time together in the studio today, it has been an absolute pleasure. Maggie’s artistry comes through so powerfully in this collection, and it was an honor to capture a portion of it through the work we created today.
