I met Sky what seems like a million years ago! Pretty sure he was 24 at the time, which means we’ve known each other for over 20 years! We’ve stayed friends on Facebook, but honestly, my feed is so filled with all the wedding stuff that I rarely see my friends’ posts, so I haven’t actually seen Sky in probably 14 years!

A couple years ago, I photographed his then-girlfriend’s family, and now that girlfriend is his fiancée! Recently, I finally got to see Sky again when they reached out to capture their growing family. It was so fun getting to photograph them together, and his lovely fiancée definitely knows how to pose for the camera!

I really am so happy for them both, and I’m crossing my fingers I get to capture their wedding next year too!!

Grace reached out for a modeling submission photoshoot. What modeling agencies want to see is a clean slate—a blank canvas, if you will, of what they can do with you. That means simple, form-fitted clothing for women or shorts for men, no editing, and just straightforward shots from all the angles. Think of it as a mugshot… just in a much nicer environment.

A lot of these sessions are for people who have never modeled before. Because of that, I don’t just book a comp card session—I book a full session. We knock out the submission shots within the first 10 minutes, then… we have fun. We start modeling.

That’s exactly what we did for Grace’s session. Thankfully I have a few dresses in the studio, so we were able to change things up a bit. I also shoot tethered, so these young models get to watch their photos come up on the screen as we go. They get excited, they start to relax, and before long they’re moving naturally instead of wondering what to do with their hands.

I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had a modeling comp card session that wasn’t an absolute blast.

Thank you, Grace, for coming into the studio for this session, and thank your mom for finding me!

There are some shoots I can’t share until the big reveal, and boyyyyy was this one soooo hard not to share!

I’ve been talking with Mia’s mom for a couple of months now. She ordered her dress, and when it arrived, it looked nothing like the photo. So back it went and it was back to the drawing board! She ordered another one and when that one arrived… it was THE perfect dress!

We hopped right into scheduling because these photos needed to go to print before the big day. I reached out to my friend Amie at Zamora Hills Ranch to see if we could use her gorgeous venue as the backdrop, we solidified a date, and Mom got Mia scheduled with an MUA for hair and makeup.

Mom had her heart set on golden hour, and thankfully, up on the hill the breeze kept the heat at bay and we had absolutely perfect weather.

I’ve been DYING to share these photos, and now that Mia’s quinceañera has happened, I finally can! Look at how stunning she is!

And I know she had the most amazing birthday celebration because I was lucky enough to capture that on Saturday too! More to come from that incredible day!

Yesterday I was trying to be stealth so I could capture this proposal! Initially I thought it was going to happen on Rainbow Bridge, but the couple veered to the right just before the bridge. All the brush causes loud crunching underfoot, so I had to remain back and behind some foliage. It was 102° so we just took a couple photos and will plan a traditional engagement shoot later when it’s a more reasonable temperature! Afterward I followed them to a large family dinner to grab some shots of their family who came in from out of town. I think this bride to be was very surprised!

Gosh, I feel like I say this for every wedding lately… and here I go again. This wedding was just extra special because I’ve known this bride’s mama for about 20 years. I’ve listened to stories of Emma growing up, got to capture her engagement photos a while back, and then last month she and Dustin had the most beautiful wedding.

Her dress was absolutely stunning, and both she and Dustin have killer senses of humor! There’s a little “surprise photo” from Dustin buried somewhere in their gallery. 🫣 I can honestly say it’s hands down the funniest photo I’ve ever taken! No… it’s not in this post. 😂 I’m just waiting for someone to stumble across it and text me!

Congratulations, Emma & Dustin! I hope you’re as in love with your wedding memories as I am. ❤️ Now your mom and I need to go have lunch and reminisce about this incredible day!

Some weddings just stay with you, and Kristen & Parker’s day at Grand Island Mansion was one of them. What a stunning place to celebrate such an incredible couple.

One of my favorite moments wasn’t even behind the camera—it was when Kristen told me she wanted to keep me around for life to capture all of their special moments. There truly isn’t a bigger compliment than being trusted with your memories, and I’m so grateful.

Congratulations, you two! Here’s to a lifetime of beautiful moments together.

As I struggle to keep up with editing all these glorious weddings, I’m reminded that I also need to keep posting! 😅

This wedding was especially fun because it was for a friend and fellow photographers sister. With so many moving parts and a two-part celebration, there was a lot to coordinate, but everything came together perfectly in the end. Did I mention they did a live butterfly release? 🦋

A huge shoutout to Paul Elkin for pulling off some editing rush magic to help keep everything flowing smoothly! ✨

Here are just a few sneak peeks while I continue working through their full gallery. I can’t wait to share more of this beautiful day with you all!

Small world moment Mom reached out for her daughter’s senior portraits and it turns out I had already met this grad at our church baptisms over the summer! I even took a photo of her with my neighbor back then. Now here we are celebrating her senior year and upcoming graduation. I love these small town connections and getting to capture these milestone moments.

How is it that all these seniors could be models? Seriously. I’m so lucky to do what I do and to meet such incredible young people during their senior portrait sessions. Every single session brings a different personality, style, and energy and I’m here for all of it. Senior photography season has been so much fun this year!
