There’s just something special about getting to work with local businesses that make our community a little more fun. ☀️🍹

I got to spend some time with the crew at in , capturing some fresh photos for some new merch and summer drink lineup. And y’all… if summer had an official flavor, I’m pretty sure it would be their Peach Soft Serve Margarita. 🍑

This particular concoction, obviously required a little “quality control” testing. For photography purposes, of course. 😏

One of my favorite parts of this job is helping local businesses tell their story and show off what makes them unique. Whether it’s a wedding day, a family session, or a hometown spot serving up something amazing, I love getting to showcase the people and places that make North Texas & OTL feel like home.

June has arrived, and with it comes a fresh menu at Ethel Janes.

This month we're leaning into the flavors of summer with a bowl of bright, lightly roasted Roma Tomato Basil Soup, fresh Basil Mozzarella Focaccia, a crisp Layered Caesar Salad with croissant croutons, shaved parmesan and house-made dressing, and a Caprese Sandwich layered with toasted Basil Mozzarella focaccia, sliced tomatoes and even more soft melty mozzarella.

As always, everything is made from scratch, served with care, and designed to be enjoyed slowly. ☺

The menu may have changed, but our favorite part remains - gathering around the table with good food, good drinks and good company.

☀️ Full sun. No shade. Texas summer doing what Texas summer does.

Sometimes it’s not about finding perfect light —it’s about finding the perfect way to use the light you have.

That’s where experience comes in. Finding the right angle, knowing where to place your subject, and understanding how light behaves can make all the difference. Full sunlight can be tough, but I love the challenge of turning a bright Texas afternoon into something beautiful.

Sure... having professional gear helps... These images were captured with a Nikon Z9 and NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 ( purchased from ) a combination that gives me incredible image quality, sharpness, and flexibility in just about any condition. The compression from this lens helped create those beautiful backgrounds while letting me work the scene from a distance.

I’ve been a shooter for a long time, and I genuinely love every tool in my camera bag. I’m just over here working on my Nikon Pro badge... so I’m going to keep creating, keep learning, and keep putting my work out there for the world to see. 🙌🏻

Until then, I’ll keep chasing sunshine, making pictures, and proving that even the harshest Texas light can make something pretty special. 🌵✨

Love, love, LOVE getting this beautiful family in front of my camera! ❤️

These are the kinds of sessions that remind me just how blessed I am to do what I do. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of photographing two weddings, welcoming multiple babies, and capturing so many family milestones for this sweet crew. Watching families grow through my lens is one of my favorite parts of this job.

I’ve known Chelsea for nearly 25 years, worship with her & her fam at , and truly adore every single one of them. They are the kind of people who make my world better simply by being in it.

What a gift it is to freeze these moments in time… three generations, so much love, and a whole lot of memories all in one frame. 💙

Thank y’all for trusting me with your family’s story year after year. It means more than you know. 📸✨

There are days I get home from a gig just feeling really grateful for this community, and today was one of those days. ❤️

And fittingly enough… today was my 100th photoshoot of the year. Yes, I keep track. 😂 And honestly, I can’t think of a more meaningful way to hit that milestone than spending the day serving the people who serve our community so well.

I started the morning with a family branch of our Lewisville Fire Department family at S2S Functional Performance. Our former chief’s son and daughter-in-law have built something really special there. Y’all have heard me talk about them before, but they truly have a heart for people. They listen, they care, they help people heal, and they are incredible at what they do. I always love getting to spend time with folks who pour so much back into our community.

Then later in the day, I found myself surrounded by another side of our first responder family at the Lewisville Police Department, photographing a room FULL of people honoring a man who has become both a client and a friend. I’ve done his headshots before, but getting to witness the impact he’s made on people was something different entirely.

The room was absolutely packed. And every single person who spoke talked about the same thing — his heart for people. His willingness to help others. The way he shows up for people when they need him most.

One of the coolest moments of the day was seeing everyone gather together for a moment of prayer. In a room full of law enforcement, family, and friends, there was just this overwhelming sense of respect, gratitude, and love for someone who has clearly poured so much into other people over the years.

That’s what sticks with me about our first responder community around here. Behind the uniforms are people with huge hearts who quietly serve others day in and day out.

And honestly, it’s such an honor getting to serve them the best way I know how… by documenting these moments and telling their stories.

Lewisville really is something special. ♥️💙

And congrats on your retirement, Pee-Wee 😉! So many people love and respect you, and it was really special getting to witness that today

Summertime, sunshine, and just enough chaos to make it a GREAT family session. ☀️💛

This crew showed up in the happiest colors, brought all the personality, and kept me laughing the entire time. And let me tell y’all… a family with all boys is EXACTLY what you’d expect — competitive, loud, hilarious, and full of nonstop energy. 😂

We wandered through the wildflowers, soaked up that golden evening light, and wrapped the whole thing up with a full-on water pistol fight. Being a cop family, I’m happy to report everyone handled their “firearms” safely and responsibly. 🚔🔫💦

One of my favorite parts was getting to include the oldest son and his sweet wife too. I always love when sessions capture not just where a family has been, but the new chapters they’re stepping into together. ❤️

These are the kind of sessions that feel like summer memories before the photos are even edited. So much fun. So much love.

Every 30 days, we start over.

We clear the kitchen.
We reflect on the highs and the lows of the past month.
We improve and rewrite the menu for the next 30 days.

Recipes are tested, tweaked, and tasted many times over.
Ingredients and kitchen tools shift in and out with the seasons.
The entire rhythm of the kitchen resets.

What you see on the menu is just the final step in a lengthy process.

Behind the menus are days of chopping, simmering, baking, and rebuilding - making sure every detail feels just right for the moment we’re in right now. And if you're one of our luckiest guests, you may have gotten a preview sample along the way.

Nothing is “left over”.
Everything is fresh.
