What a wonderful morning at Northview Baptist Church! 🤍

Our youth minister, Chuck Snell, who also happens to be the dad of one of our awesome Blackall Photography lighting assistants, Olivia, brought the message today, and y’all… he did such an incredible job!

He was engaging, funny, honest, and just downright relatable. He took today’s scripture and brought it right into real life, reminding us what it means to truly go ALL IN with our faith. It was one of those messages that steps on your toes just a little bit, in the very best way, and follows you right out the church doors.

I say it all the time, but I truly love serving as Northview’s church photographer. There’s something mighty special about documenting what God is doing inside the church and among the people! I love it so much. 🤍📸

Also... A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Olivia today!! 🎈🎂

Soooo… just a little fun fact and some girl math for your day. 😂

Not to sound too dramatic, but I’ve always said it feels like I do most of the year’s work during our Fall season, so I finally ran the numbers. Turns out, October through December accounts for about 40% of my entire year’s paid bookings. 😳

So... it’s not technically more than I photograph during the rest of the year… but packing nearly 40% of an entire year’s work into about 2½ short months certainly explains why Fall feels like one very long day fueled by coffee, dry shampoo, and the Lord’s provision. 😂

Apparently I wasn’t being dramatic after all. I was just experiencing statistics.

And speaking of Fall!! We still have 9 openings left for October and 8 for November! Book now before the girl math turns into “Sorry, we’re full!” 🎉🍂📸

New job, new chapter, new headshots! 📸✨

I got to spend my morning with Ashley, one of the newest faces at the City of Lewisville, and y’all, she was an absolute joy!

She’s been with our HR & Lewisville TX Economic Development department for just about a month, and we laughed, visited and somehow managed to capture some pretty great headshots along the way. 🤍

I’m so grateful for my partnership with the City of Lewisville and for the chance to photograph the wonderful people working behind the scenes to serve our community.

From city staff to directors and everyone in between, I love getting them in front of my camera, and making professional headshots feel a whole lot less painful! 😂📸

A big special thank you The Lounge for use of their space! They’ve generously let us commandeer this location for COL Headshots for the past four/five years now and I just can’t begin to tell you how incredibly grateful we are! The Lounge is such a special place and is available for rent for just about any occasion!

I came to Ethel Janes today to take a few photos of the new September menu.

I left questioning everything I thought I knew about potato soup. 😂

Y’ALL.

I know I say this every month, but there is just something special happening over at Ethel Janes in Old Town Lewisville.

THIS MONTH IS MY (new) FAVORITE.

If you’re someone who appreciates big flavors… this menu might kinda, sorta, possibly bring you to tears. 😂 But holy smokes, y’all. This is quite possibly some of the best food I have ever tasted!

This month’s menu is inspired by the time the owners spent living in Germany, so there are all kinds of authentic German-inspired flavors—and German words that I will absolutely NOT embarrass myself attempting to pronounce.

There’s a cold potato + cucumber salad that is ridiculously good.

There’s a ham sandwich with homemade mustard on their HOMEMADE PRETZEL BREAD. 🤌🏼 Chef’s kiss. No notes.

And the new drink?! It’s inspired by something you’ll find all over Germany, but of course they gave it their own twist with Bendt No. 5… and GOOD GRACIOUS. The balance of flavors is unreal. So refreshing for a light, sessionable drink!

But really…

I came here to tell you about the soup.

THE. POTATO. SOUP.

I genuinely don’t even know how to put into words how good it is. Rich and savory and layered and comforting and somehow so much more than “potato soup” has any business being. 😂

It’s special. That’s it. That’s my professional food review.

It. Is. Special.

September’s menu started TODAY, so you’re just gonna have to go figure this one out for yourself. And when you do, tell ’em Blackall sent ya. ✌🏻

But seriously… GET THE SOUP.
