There have been so many years where I’ve put in the work leading up to New Years Day & have my goals set & a plan made… this is NOT one of those years.

I don’t know if it was a super busy fall season that for one reason or another rolled right past my normal “cut off” date in early December, the flu hitting our house & leaving just in time for thankfully spending Christmas morning together, or a general need to just slow down rather than kick into planning mode… but whatever the reason, I just didn’t end 2025 fired up to start fighting/striving in 2026.

That being said, I know there are some mainstays that will continue to be a focus for me this year: serving my clients well and using my God-given gifts, deepening my faith and growing closer to God, and reading (or listening to) lots of good books.

I’m curious… are you starting 2026 with goals in place or easing into what you want this year to bring? Also - if you have books that need to be added to my list for the year, drop ‘em in the comments!

To all of you who have invited me into your homes and into your family’s lives throughout this year, I am so eternally grateful! I truly cherish taking these photos that will be part of your family’s visual legacy, that your kids will look back on someday, that preserve the details of each stage of life that too easily are forgotten with time.

Pouring into your families also allows me to help support mine, and just thinking about that could make my sappy heart burst!

So before we even get to the year reminiscing/reflecting that the eve of the new year brings, I just needed to say a heartfelt THANK YOU!

A little fun on this Friday & an intro for those who are new around here!!

So many random facts to share, but mostly, I just want you to know that the person behind the camera over here isn’t perfect & you don’t have to be either! In the world of AI & filters & social media highlight reels, you’re allowed to just be you.

You’re allowed to be both the entrepreneur who is giving it her all and growing her dream AND be the mom who struggles to pull together everyone’s outfits for family photos. You can be the hands-on Mom who makes life magical for her kids AND knows she should drink more water & take supplements but currently downs too much coffee & only regularly supplements with dry shampoo.

One thing to know about me for sure is how much I treasure my clients & how insanely grateful I am to get to photograph your families and your businesses. Being a small part of your life & legacy is something I will never take for granted!

It’s been a super busy fall & I’ve been absolutely horrible about sharing any of the photos of the sweet clients I’m so lucky to work with! I promise the lack of posting doesn’t equal to a lack of gratitude! Just a few spots left for family portraits before I wrap things up for 2025!

💔 Want to break my heart? Tell me you aren’t booking family portraits until you lose XX pounds. 😩😩 Stick with me for a little tough love moment (I promise I’m saying this from a place of love!!) Your kids aren’t going to look back at family photos when they’re grown or when you’re gone and guess what your weight was or even care about that at all. They’re going to want to see YOU in the photos WITH them through the years. They love YOU, Mama. Get in the photo.

And here’s to the mamas (like the stunning in this photo!) who consistently book family portraits with me every year. I love watching your families grow and I am so happy your babies are going to have such a full & rich visual legacy to hold onto for years and years to come. 💕💕💕
