From center stage moments to the beautifully chaotic prop room, this session felt like stepping behind the curtain of her world.

“Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful." ~ Creature

I had the privilege of photographing Shiner One Act Play again this year, and at this point I’ve fully accepted that this is my favorite “play mom” job.

This year’s Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein isn’t just a play, it’s an experience. The way the story unfolds through Mary Shelley herself, watching her imagination come to life on stage… it’s eerie, it’s beautiful, and it pulls you all the way in.

The lighting, the special effects, the acting, the horror… there are moments you genuinely forget you’re watching high school kids. Like, how are y’all doing this??

And yes, I’m absolutely a proud mom over here since my girl is bringing Elizabeth to life 🖤 but truly, every single student on that stage and behind the scenes is doing something incredible.

Break a leg at Area, y'all. Go make them uncomfortable (in the best Frankenstein way). 👏
