Nailing a smile is somehow the hardest thing to do even though we do it 100 times a day. 📸✨😬
For performers, commercial headshots can feel terrifyingly exposed and vulnerable. 🫣 Dropping your guard in front of the lens is tough, but nailing that “perfect smile” is actually way simpler than you think! 💡
A genuine smile has almost nothing to do with the muscles in your mouth—and everything to do with the connection in your eyes. 👀⚡️
You can have the biggest smile in the world, but if your eyes aren’t connected, it will never feel real.
Here is my secret technique (it sounds a little wild, but trust me, it works every single time!): 🙌
✨ Find the light: Picture a little ball of energy sitting right in your chest. 🫀
🧘♂️ Breathe: Inhale deep through your nose, and as you exhale, imagine breathing out through your eyes.
🎥 Connect: Stare down the lens of the camera. Visualize that energy growing, rising up through your throat, and bursting out through your eyes into the camera.
😄 Let it flow: As that real feeling of joy grows inside, slowly let the smile come.
When the connection is in your eyes, the smile takes care of itself. 🎬💥
