Pop-up headshots happening now till Aug 15! π₯π₯
Nailing a smile is somehow the hardest thing to do even though we do it 100 times a day. πΈβ¨π¬
For performers, commercial headshots can feel terrifyingly exposed and vulnerable. π«£ Dropping your guard in front of the lens is tough, but nailing that βperfect smileβ is actually way simpler than you think! π‘
A genuine smile has almost nothing to do with the muscles in your mouthβand everything to do with the connection in your eyes. πβ‘οΈ
You can have the biggest smile in the world, but if your eyes arenβt connected, it will never feel real.
Here is my secret technique (it sounds a little wild, but trust me, it works every single time!): π
β¨ Find the light: Picture a little ball of energy sitting right in your chest. π«
π§ββοΈ Breathe: Inhale deep through your nose, and as you exhale, imagine breathing out through your eyes.
π₯ Connect: Stare down the lens of the camera. Visualize that energy growing, rising up through your throat, and bursting out through your eyes into the camera.
π Let it flow: As that real feeling of joy grows inside, slowly let the smile come.
When the connection is in your eyes, the smile takes care of itself. π¬π₯
