I don't think I could have asked for a more beautiful family or more perfect fall light for this session.

And as I was going through their gallery, I kept thinking about how much I love creating images that feel like more than just family photos.

Of course, I want you to see the connection, the little personalities, and everything you love about this season of life.

But I also want you to see your art.

Images that feel intentional, timeless, and beautiful enough to live on the walls of your home. An entire gallery that tells your family's story and feels like it belongs together.

Because after all the planning, coordinating outfits, and getting everyone ready, I want you to walk away with more than updated family photos.

I know how overwhelming it can be trying to coordinate outfits for the entire family, especially when you're already juggling all the things that come with the holiday season.

So I put together three different holiday outfit combinations that I absolutely LOVE for studio family photos and Santa sessions!

A few things I always recommend when styling your family:

🤍 Coordinate, don't match! Choose colors that complement each other rather than putting everyone in the exact same shade.

🌲 Mix textures! Velvet, cable-knit sweaters, cotton, and soft fabrics photograph beautifully together.

❤️ Keep it timeless. Think about what you'll love seeing in your family photos 10 or 20 years from now.

And remember, you don't have to dress everyone in red and green to create beautiful holiday portraits!

As moms, we spend so much time making the holidays magical for everyone else. Between the shopping, decorating, traditions, and endless to-do lists, it's easy to forget just how quickly these years are passing.

And every Christmas, our kids look a little different. Their smiles change, their personalities grow, and those little faces we love so much aren't quite as little anymore.

I absolutely loved capturing the Kidwell kiddos and this sweet season of their childhood. ❤️

Because years from now, you won't remember everything you checked off your holiday to-do list. But you'll be so grateful to have photos that remind you exactly what this season of motherhood looked and felt like.

And that's why I believe holiday photos are worth making time for, even in the middle of all the chaos.

I've been having SO much fun playing equine photographer lately, but this session was especially special to me!

Meet Clara of Hart Horses LLC. She's an incredible horse trainer based in Mason, Michigan, and someone I've personally had the pleasure of working with as she's helped me with all three of my horses!

Getting to have her on the other side of my camera was such a treat, and these are just a few of the images from her gallery that I can't wait to share more of!

Clara, thank you for everything you bring to the equine community. Your patience, kindness, and thoughtful approach to working with horses are something I admire so much. You have such a gentle way of understanding horses while also helping their humans become more confident and capable.

I've learned so much from you, and I'm genuinely grateful to know you!

It's been so fun combining two things I love so much lately — horses and photography. And getting to photograph people who share that same love makes it even better.
