I am sharing a few photos from Dubuque Latinx Fiesta's Quinceanera fashion dress display, hosted by Dubuque Unidos.

A quinceañera is a traditional Latin American coming-of-age celebration held for a girl’s 15th birthday, marking her symbolic transition from childhood to young womanhood. Blending indigenous Mesoamerican roots (such as Aztec and Maya traditions) with Spanish Catholicism, it functions as both a profound spiritual milestone and a grand social event. The term refers to both the celebration itself and the young woman being honored.

12th annual AsianFest in Cedar Rapids: AsianFest is an annual event hosted by Iowa Asian Alliance-Eastern Iowa Chapter. Their vision is to celebrate diversity and continue to make Eastern Iowa inclusive for all by hosting multicultural events, encouraging public policy engagement and enhancing the quality of life. It was a perfect photography day, and I am grateful to be on their photographer list for 2027.
