Valley View Mall in La Crosse opened its doors to the public on July 31, 1980, and for decades, it was so much more than just a shopping center. It was a gathering place for families, high schoolers, grandparents, and generations of people who made memories within its halls.
Sadly, today Valley View Mall is often referred to as “The Dying Mall,” with more vacant storefronts than open businesses. It’s unfortunate to see a place that was once so full of life slowly fade away.
Those of us who remember the crowds, the stores, the food court, the holiday shopping, and simply hanging out at the mall know just how different it once was.
When was the last time you visited Valley View Mall? What’s one memory you’ll always remember?
