Fine Art & Pet Portraits

In a previous post, I showed the three finalists for the holiday cover of Heartland Magazine that I photographed. Well, today is the day the issue hits the stands (and mailboxes)! Mossberg is our cover dog!

I know Megan and Eddie are very proud of him.

The Kokomo Police Department's Training Center is pretty amazing and made for a fun background for Zach's photo.

When you have multiple animals in the house, sometimes photos do not go as planned. For instance, I had been planning a Halloween shoot for my black kitten, Shiva. I had done some light tests a few days earlier, and was set on what I wanted to do.

Today, I got everything set up and the dogs were outside, so I had nothing to worry about. That is, until they came back in and immediately started looking for me. Shiva was quickly pushed aside so Kai could "help" me in whatever I was doing. Hence, this photo.
It was meant to be Shiva. Everything was based on her small size. Oh, well. Kai had fun.

I was tasked with taking the cover photo for the holiday issue of Heartland Magazine. Of the five I turned in, these three boys were the finalists. Who do you think will be on the cover? The issue comes out October 30th!

This distinguished gentleman, believe it or not, turned 18 years old this month! Diego wears the years well.

I have not posted in a bit, due to working on the cover image for a magazine. If you are familiar with my work, you can probably guess which magazine. The difference is that this year, it is the holiday issue. I will post some of the images when I can.

Also, be on the lookout for an announcement regarding the City of Kokomo Christmas Parade that I am involved with. This is definitely going to be a big holiday season here at Vorpal!

Now, it's time for some Halloween images...
