Part 1 of Payton’s senior session 🤍

I’ve had the privilege of photographing both of Payton’s older siblings’ senior sessions, and this summer it was finally her turn.

Over the years, taking a few photos down the dirt road by their family home has become a tradition. It only felt fitting to begin sharing her senior session right where those memories started.

The Iowa State Fair is only a few weeks away, and I still have a few favorite minis from last year that I haven't shared yet. 🌽🎡
I had so much fun capturing these images for Gretchen's senior session. Between the midway games, Ferris wheel, Sheep Barn, and golden hour around the fairgrounds, there are so many fun spots that make for a one-of-a-kind senior session.

Anna + Matthew 🤍

Got married last fall, but it’s one I’ve thought about often.
Almost every wedding has something that doesn’t go quite as planned, whether it’s something small or something big.
On Anna & Matthew’s wedding day, they had a few hiccups; from their wedding flowers being delayed in shipping and not arriving until after the wedding, to their ceremony programs also being delayed.

But Anna took it all with a smile, and with the help of amazing family and friends, they went to different stores the night before the wedding, picked up fresh flowers, and made their own bouquets. They turned out beautiful and you would have never known it wasn’t the original plan.

But what I admired even more was Anna’s perspective. As she was getting ready, she told me that Jesus loves her, and that at the end of the day they were still going to be married.

I’ve had the privilege of attending and photographing a lot of weddings over the last few years, and sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of what matters most. At the end of the day, the flowers, food, and decor become memories, but the person standing beside you, and the marriage itself, will still be there every day after.

I actually found myself thinking back to Anna’s perspective during my own wedding this past year. Wedding planning can definitely be stressful, but her reminder has stayed with me. At the end of the day, the marriage is so much more important than the wedding itself.

Congratulations again, Anna and Matthew, you two are both incredible. Thank you for the reminder of what really matters. 🤍

This was such a fun day to help capture with a great cause of supporting the youth in Monroe County build a new show pavilion! From the big rigs, kids pedal pull, foam parties, concerts, and an auction, there was no better way to spend last Saturday!
