A little creative magic for the dance floor.

One of the fun things I sometimes add to a wedding gallery is light painting — a creative technique that captures motion, energy, and the feeling of the moment in a really unique way. These images turn the dance floor into something almost dreamy and abstract while still highlighting the couple at the center of it all.

I’ll usually create these photos during the free dancing part of the night when the party is in full swing, or sometimes toward the end of the first dance when the lighting and movement create the perfect atmosphere. Not every venue is ideal for it, but when the space and lighting lend themselves well to this style, it can add such a fun and artistic element to your wedding gallery.

It’s one of those little creative touches that helps tell the story of the celebration — the music, the movement, and the joy of the moment.

I don’t do editorial-style photography often because I love capturing moments that feel real and authentically you.

But… sometimes couples are looking for that more posed, styled, or “editorial” look. When you’re searching for a photographer, always ask what styles they specialize in, just because a photographer can do something, doesn’t mean it’s their usual approach. It might not be what they normally create, and that’s okay!

I love creating galleries full of genuine emotions and real connection, but I can absolutely work with couples who want something a little more styled, it just helps to have the conversation ahead of time.
