Hey friends. Thank you for your patience while
I am navigating being at the hospital with my daughter. She is still here and we are not sure when she will be discharged. Taking it day by day while trying to be optimistic and hopeful. My husband came up this weekend and brought our trailer for me to stay in (I still don’t feel comfortable not sleeping in the room with her at night though) but it’s nice to have a place to store food and clothes. He has been taking turns staying with her so I can get rest, and get things I need done (paperwork sucks). It was a blessing having him come up. But as you can imagine, me being here has left no time for business stuff, vendor events, restocking inventory or otherwise.
I try to sleep when she sleeps but that’s a struggle for her right now too- between being sick and providers providing care all hours of the day. As soon as I can, I will be back but right now, as I am sure you understand, my daughter and getting her better takes precedence over everything. She has been in the hospital now 2 weeks. 9 days ago I came up because I didn’t feel she was getting the care she needed and had her transferred to a bigger hospital. We are moving forward in her path to wellness but it’s slow- definitely baby steps. And some days it feels like no progress at all. I am reminded that healing is not linear.
Thank you for understanding and I appreciate your patience. Having your kiddo ill and in the hospital, even if they are young adults, is fricken hard. Mama Bear has had to make an appearance a few times. 🐻 This has been an eye opening experience and we have had some amazing care providers- that have shared a lot of compassion. We have also had some who struggle with that completely. I have to remind myself that there is a huge shortage of care providers (nurses, Drs etc) in Oregon. I am thankful for the kindness from many people.
Please keep her, and her providers in your thoughts. ❤️
