I was fortunate enough to have spotted a bobcat stalking a hen wood duck and her chicks today. This is one beautiful cat and the camouflage is amazing, if he hadn't been moving I would have never spotted him.

This is the shot that really disappointed me with my 180-600mm lens, the bokeh is just not good. The bear came out great all things considered but the lens let me down with the background being so busy.

This was actually taken from a moving vehicle while I was just pointing in the general direction of the bear and praying it auto focused on the bear and it did! I was fortunate to even have the camera pointed in the right direction and it locked on his eyes!

So the question is, what lens do i want to replace the 180-600mm? I love the flexibility of the 180-600 and will likely keep it on a backup camera for those times where I'm to close for a 400 or a 600. I'm considering the Nikon Z mount 400 TC, 600 TC and the F mount 500mm. I won't be able to get the previous two this year but I should be able to get the 500mm this fall or winter.

What do you think?

Spotted a couple of owlets complaining about breakfast to mom this morning.

These guys were so cute and the one in back kept bobbing his head around trying to get a better view.

I was stalking a black bear who was marking her territory this morning when she decided to cross the creek. I didn't get any great photos but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Mom and her 3 cubs enjoying breakfast, she has successfully raised these three healthy cubs to where it is near time for them to be weaned from her. She must be an amazing mom to get all three of them through this trying period in their lives.

Mama bear and her three cubs at Alligator river this morning. I didn't see any wolves this morning but there was plenty of idiots in cars who are too lazy to quietly walk for a better shot, oh no they have to drive and keep their engines running the entire time.

I may have gotten slightly ticked off with the people who were more interested in talking than enjoying what we had in front of us.

Just a few of the bears that I spotted this afternoon, it was a productive day for sure. I love the one of the big boar sitting on the bank of a creek.

This gorgeous black bear had just crossed the creek and was waiting for me to say hello, what a sweet girl.

Don't mind the jets overhead, they are bombing nearby in preparation for deployment.
