I'll be burning the midnight oil trying to get as many photos done as possible before the weekend hits us. Sparta-BRF pre-registered photos could be hitting your inbox just before you go to bed, maybe while you're asleep. GLW photos after that (pre-reg after that), Central-Ellsworth after that (those will be a breeze), then Rice Lake-Wausau West, and last but not least, I'll be working on PWB photos in spare time.

I'm not much of a gambling man, until it comes to taking photos of athletes during games. No, I'm not placing bets on who wins or loses, but I am gambling on where the ball is going to end up, or if the athlete I'm currently taking photos of is going to do something that stands out.

On the BRF side of things, I can't tell you how many plays I followed Will Rahmlow as he ran a route, with the end result being just that, a route ran and no ball in sight. It finally paid off in the 4th quarter when he scored his touchdown (not shown here).

Another example was when Sparta had the ball on the BRF goal line. Oliver Mulvaney, the Sparta center, was on my list of athletes to cover. Sparta running back, Parker Benish, was also on my list and in the backfield. Do I go for the glory and hope Parker gets the ball and scores? Nope, I made the decision to cover Oliver on that play. His role is just as important, if not more important, as that of everyone else on the field. Oliver made a quick block, taking himself and his opponent to the ground immediately. I instantly found Parker and was able to capture him as he battled his way into the end zone. Double win for me on that play!

All 8 spots were filled in just a few hours! One of the players may or may not get some playing time, so I opened up ONE more spot in case that athlete doesn’t get any.

I wasn't going to write anything more than what's above, but now I feel like I have to. Less than 15 minutes ago, I created the signup for this game. I have not told anyone I was officially going, though I did throw out a teaser yesterday. The signup wasn't even 3 minutes old and I hadn't even typed the word "West" yet and someone already signed up! This individual is someone I've not yet met, nor have they ever been a client of mine until now. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising, IMO. Thank you to those that share my work and talk to others about what I am able to provide to. I couldn't do this without you!

Thank you to The Pat Watters Band for giving me free rein of the stage tonight! This is something I've wanted to do for a long time, and tonight we finally made it happen. I learned a lot and will carry that into the next time I shoot a concert. More photos to come...stay tuned.

Where and what am I taking photos of tonight? I’ll give two clues.

1. I’ve never done this before.
2. It’s a “grand finale”, of sorts.

Winner gets nothing, and the two people that know aren’t allowed to “guess”. Photo has nothing to do with it.
