I have shot at this location for years! I call it old faithful; the light is always great, the background is always on point. To add to it, not only am I great friends with all these fine people, they were also an amazing client. Side note, the wind was not cooperating at all but we made it work.

Gracie Joiner - Kansas City Ballet

In a traditional dance photoshoot you have the opportunity to capture all the big leaps and bounds that a dancer performs on a daily basis. However, in my small Kansas City living room studio I don't have much room to work with. When working with dancers, given the space limitations, we tend to focus on form over big movement. This can present some challenges when coming up with new ways to be creative and set new images apart from previous photoshoots. I always find it fun to experiment with new lighting and movement. Check out this set of photos from a photoshoot with Kansas City Ballet dancer Gracie Joiner.

Brooke Beck - Just Do It

This was a very fun shoot! Brooke and I spent a few hours this spring running around James A. Reed Wildlife Area snapping photos along the way. I always pack a headlamp in my bag because sometimes that can add a little extra "cool factor" to a photo.
