Family portraits have always been a big part of what my clients want when I photograph their weddings and this couple put them as a top priority.

We had so much fun doing a variety of mixes with his children and her children, extended family, and loved ones.

The fact that everyone was absolutely gorgeous made it even more wonderful!

In the very, very early days of my photography career (high school and just after) I photographed quite a lot of weddings, but I gave them up to focus on babies, toddlers and families.

Every once in a while someone finds me and asks if I'll photograph their big day. Depending on the location and the size of the wedding my arm can be twisted into saying yes.

Such was the case with this gorgeous couple and their wedding in the rose garden at Loose Park.

When scheduling senior portraits the first question is always, "Where should we do the session?" Once that's decided the next question is almost always, "What should my senior wear?"

I recommend a variety of clothing changes--dressy, casual, comfortable and, if your senior has decided, a shirt or jacket from the college they'll be attending.

My senior sessions are fun, they're efficient, and they're designed to capture a variety of looks.

I’m going to end my Best of 2025 with a portrait of some of my favorite people—my sister Shannon, her husband Jason, and their three children—Rachel, Josh and Edyn. Shannon was one of my first portrait subjects back when I first started taking photos—I was eleven and she was a baby. I have photographed Rachel, Josh, and Edyn thousands of times through their growing up years—in the studio, on location, playing sports, celebrating birthdays, getting first hair cuts, losing teeth, having sleepovers, sledding, biking, playing at parks, first days of school, little heartbreaks, big wins on sports fields. The list is endless. I’m thankful they’re allowed me to photograph them through the years—it’s made me a much better photographer.
