Jacksonville parents… the library is carrying my summer sanity on its BACK.

Free AC.
Free events.
My kids get to run around doing volcano experiments, Mario Kart tournaments, STEM stuff, anime clubs, crafts, gardening, and whatever else these librarians cooked up… while I sit there with my laptop pretending I have my life together.

And honestly? It’s one of the few cheap things that doesn’t feel cheap.

You ever realize you became the “different one” in the family simply because you got tired of surviving in chaos all the time?

Like at some point you stop romanticizing dysfunction and start wanting things like:
• peace
• stability
• healthy communication
• consistency
• quiet
• accountability

And suddenly that makes you the odd one out.

I think a lot of people quietly grieve that shift.

Because healing can feel lonely when the people around you are still comfortable in patterns you had to fight to break.

And I know this isn’t everybody’s story, but if it IS yours… I hope you know choosing peace does not make you cold, selfish, dramatic, or “better than everyone.”

It just means you got tired of living in survival mode.

Honestly, some of us didn’t become the black sheep because we were reckless.

We became the black sheep because we finally started protecting ourselves.

Okay Jacksonville parents… I think I accidentally found one of the best summer survival hacks. 😂

These FREE indoor playgrounds have genuinely saved me on:
• rainy days
• 100° Florida afternoons
• overstimulating weeks
• broke parent days
• “my kids need to leave this house immediately” emergencies

And the best part?
They’re actually parent friendly too.

Free wifi.
Coffee and snacks.
Places to sit and work.
Air conditioning.
And the kids get to absolutely exhaust themselves indoors instead of melting outside like little rotisserie chickens.

As a mom with ADHD who works from my laptop a lot, places like this are honestly elite.

Now I’m seriously considering organizing a Jacksonville mom meetup/playdate situation this summer because clearly we all need community AND somewhere for our kids to burn energy. 😂

Mother’s Day Interview: Youngest Edition 😂

No hesitation.

Just tiny people spreading misinformation with their whole chest.

Middle children are honestly built different because why was every answer both accurate and slightly disrespectful at the same time?

I started this thinking it was gonna be cute and wholesome.
Instead I learned my child apparently thinks I survive exclusively on caffeine and laying down.

Honestly? Fair.

I really thought my oldest was about to roast me for the internet but honestly… he knew me way better than I expected.

A few answers were sweet.
A few were wildly incorrect.
And a few made me stop and go “wait… do I actually do that?”

Being a photographer in Florida is basically an extreme sport at this point.

Nobody warns you that your camera bag eventually becomes:
• sunscreen
• bug spray
• backup clothes
• water bottles
• emotional support snacks
• and one singular prayer against rain clouds

Florida photographers are built different because why am I checking radar apps, UV index, humidity levels, and noseeum activity before every session like I’m preparing for battle?

Also let’s talk about:
• Springs during summer weekends being actual survival mode
• The best photo locations ALWAYS being 45 minutes away for no reason
• Sweat instantly gluing your clothes to your body
• Random thunderstorms forming out of thin air the second golden hour hits

And the NOSEEUMS???
Those tiny invisible demons deserve jail time.

But somehow… the photos still slap every single time.

Florida really said:
“You can have beautiful scenery but you WILL suffer for it.”

Fellow Florida photographers, what’s your biggest horror story because I know y’all have some unhinged ones. 😂

Okay Jacksonville moms… I need friends and my kids need to burn energy before we all melt into the pavement this summer. 😂

I’ve met so many cool people on here lately and now I kinda wanna put together some chill summer playdates around Jacksonville.

Here’s the problem:
Outdoor parks turn into the surface of the sun after 11am.
Indoor playgrounds are fun until admission costs the same as a small car payment.
Library events are honestly underrated and kinda elite.
And my kids need socialization before they start WWE fighting each other in my living room.

Also I need adult conversation before I fully lose it and start narrating my entire life out loud like a documentary.

So tell me…
Where are the good spots?!
What would y’all actually wanna do?

Morning park hangs?
Library days?
Indoor playground chaos?
Coffee while the kids run feral together?

Hi my name is Tiffany and I will be sharing some of my favorite summer activies to do with my kids!! If your like me and on a budget, your going to want to follow this series!

First up, StemKamp hosts a free week long stem summer camp at oceanway middle school. My oldest son went last year and had an absolute blast! They do a field trip on day 4 and family day on day 5!! This year both him and his middle brother will be attending and they are so excited!!
