Most moms worry that they won’t be able to get any good photos. I totally get it! I have this same worry every time I get photos with my girls.

Here’s what moms think family photos will be like vs. what actually happens

I hear this concern all the time, (actually yesterday): “My child will not smile and turns his head away every time. We cannot have family photos.” I told her that once he’s having a good time laughing and playing, it’s easier to coax that smile and even a few glance at the camera.

What most moms discover is that after a few minutes playing with their kids and their partner, the whole family loosens up, and enjoys each other and the fun they’re having at their family photoshoot.

You do not need perfect behavior.
You do not need matching outfits.
You just need to show up.

My job is to guide you and create space for real moments. Don’t worry, I’ll adjust y’all just a tad while you’re having fun so you look great on camera!

Most moms worry that their kids are too wild and wiggly for family photos. They are afraid of the embarrassment and vulnerability of public meltdowns. Let me tell you, I’m right there in the trenches with y’all! As a neurodivergent mom raising 2 neurodivergent kids, I understand the meltdowns, the defiance, the runners, and even the grumpy goobers.

Here is the truth: your kids are NOT too feral for family photos! Your kids, and your family are perfect just as y’all are!
That is exactly why I photograph families the way I do.
